regular review meetings to share updates on children's learning and support.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder has extremely high expectations of all children. She provides experiences that successfully capture children's imaginations. For example, she organises themed colour days, where children dress in different colours and engage in themed activities with other children. This inspires children to be inquisitive and active learners. The childminder supports children to explore and work things out for themselves. This is evident when young children engage their senses as they explore treasure baskets filled with a range of challenging, textured resources. The childminder is highly skilled at balancing the needs of children of different ages. Children develop their early mathematical skills well. For example, the childminder adds narrative to children's play as she names colours and shapes. Babies delight in pouring shapes into different coloured bowls. Older children skilfully sort coloured shapes into matching bowls.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children develop their physical skills during a wide range of enriching outdoor activities. They confidently manage risks and know how to keep themselves safe. Young children make streamers they use in the park. They demonstrate exceptional behaviour as they engage with their peers during activities. Children have inspiring opportunities to learn about different people, families and communities. They demonstrate this when they celebrate a traditional German Easter. They bring branches home from the park to build Easter trees. Children listen intently and are highly responsive as they learn songs in other languages, such as Chinese and German, which the childminder prints out and shares with parents.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children flourish as they develop their key skills for future learning and readiness for school. For example, they recognise their name when they return their water cup to the tray. Older children work alongside the childminder to explore what colours they need to make different shades of green. Young children and babies effectively develop their hand-control as they mix paint and create patterns with cotton buds to complete their seasonal pictures.
