and young people since the most recent full inspection
This home was judged good at the last full inspection. At the interim inspection, Ofsted judges that it has declined in effectiveness.
p.1
and young people since the most recent full inspection
Since the full inspection, there have been significant changes in the management and staffing of the home. The home’s previous registered manager left on 1 November 2018. A new manager was appointed but left on 30 January 2019, before becoming registered with Ofsted. Another manager was appointed, and started on 4 February 2019. She is now in the process of applying to Ofsted to become registered.
p.1
and young people since the most recent full inspection
Management changes have resulted in inconsistent standards of line management support to staff in relation to supervision and training. The new manager is beginning to address these shortfalls. For example, she has introduced regular supervision for the Inspection report children’s home: SC372661 2 staff and is in the process of ensuring that all their training is up to date. This improvement work continues and is still to be fully embedded.
p.1
and young people since the most recent full inspection
Since the last inspection, three children have lived at the home. Managers and staff have made some efforts to reduce the impact that staffing changes have had on children. For example, some staff changes have taken place at the point of a child moving out of the home and other changes have been because staff have moved with a child to support them in their new home. However, some staff changes have occurred during a child’s stay. This fails to promote consistency of adults in this child’s life and does not help them to develop positive, meaningful and trusted relationships.
p.2
and young people since the most recent full inspection
On a more positive stance, the number of times children go missing from the home and self-harm have reduced. One child’s school attendance has significantly increased. Children enjoy various activities in the local community. Children said that they are happy living in the home. Staff continue to ensure that the home is a pleasant, comfortable and well-maintained environment for children to live in.
