Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure knowledge and understanding of her role and responsibilities in keeping children safe. She has clear policies and is fully aware of the procedure she should follow should she have a concern about a child's safety or well-being. The childminder effectively uses risk assessments to identify and minimise potential hazards in her home, garden and while on outings. The childminder works in partnership with other professionals involved in the children's care and education. She provides them with information about children's learning and development when required. Comments from parents are positive regarding the quality of the care that children receive.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder creates a stimulating environment that promotes individual children's learning. She provides an ongoing commentary during children's play and repeats key words clearly to describe what they are doing. The childminder is enthusiastic in her manner and children respond well. She motivates children to explore and investigate as they use resources. Children smile and laugh as they express themselves artistically during creative crafts. They get involved in simple games that the childminder creates with cars and bricks. Children refine their physical skills as they copy how to build a tower with the bricks. They learn what happens when they push over the bricks or let the car go down the ramp and delight in repeating the actions several times.

Children benefit from the childminder's praise which helps them feel valued and appreciated in the childminder's care.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are making good progress in their learning from their individual starting points. Ongoing reviews of children's assessment information and focused support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities results in gaps in their learning being reduced.
