Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The qualified and experienced childminder provides children with activities based on their interests. Children enjoy their time at the childminder's setting and develop a range of new skills. Children of all ages concentrate well and show high levels of engagement during craft activities. Four-year-olds consolidate their learning from school when they create words using foam letters. They read the words to one another and talk about the sounds that letters make. Children have many opportunities to engage in imaginative play. For instance, during the inspection, children have the opportunity to revisit a construction activity that they started before school. They use a range of construction materials to create a city. The childminder sensitively interacts with children and asks good questions to extend their ideas even further.

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder has high expectations of children and recognises their achievements. Children behave extremely well. They are respectful, kind and considerate towards one another. They play calmly together and learn to resolve any problems that may arise in a positive manner. For instance, they calmly discuss how to share resources and demonstrate a good understanding of how to share them fairly. Children gain high levels of independence and have a good understanding of the daily routines. For example, they take responsibility for putting their coats, shoes and bags in the correct place when they enter the setting, and help to tidy up before selecting different toys and activities. Children demonstrate good physical, social and communication skills. They benefit from daily opportunities for fresh air during visits to the local play area and in the childminder's garden.
