This provision is good
n The well-qualified childminder is enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about the work that she does. She shows a true commitment to enhancing her knowledge and skills through meaningful professional development. This contributes towards the good level of care and learning children receive. n The childminder aspires to create an environment where children are confident to make their own independent choices, are happy and enjoy what they do. This helps to prepare children for their continued journey through education. Children are motivated learners who express a desire to play, learn and achieve. n The childminder values each and every child. Novel strategies, such as creating a kindness tree, help to recognise and celebrate children's achievements and special attributes. This contributes towards children adopting a high sense of self-worth. n The childminder provides a good range of fun learning experiences that swiftly

incorporate children's current interests. She intervenes well during play and responds swiftly to ideas that children initiate, such as playing a game of peekaboo. This helps to sustain children's interest and supports their continued good progress. n The childminder actively encourages children to adopt a sense of community spirit. Innovative projects, such as involving children in an organised beach cleanup, contribute towards them learning about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling materials, to help to protect their environment. n At times, the childminder does not review children's progress often enough, and information about what they need to learn next is not precisely personalised to each child. This hinders children's ability to make the very highest rates of progress. n The childminder does not share enough regular and precise information with parents to help them to further support and extend their children's learning at home.

Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good knowledge of child protection procedures. Risks are readily identified and minimised. The childminder responds swiftly to any safety information that she receives. For example, following correspondence from the fire service about a fire nearby, she alerts children to the dangers of fire and talks through the evacuation procedures within her home. This helps to raise children's awareness of keeping themselves safe. The childminder continually evaluates her practice. She listens perceptively to children, parents and others and acts on their views. For example, through accurate observation the childminder recognises that young children are keen to look at books alone. She reorganises her home in response to this, and places books at a lower level to help to promote children's independent choices.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder observes children closely to tune in to what they know and enjoy. She provides endless opportunities for children to engage in experiences. For example, they sing familiar songs, listen to various forms of music and explore the sounds that different instruments make to help build on their love of music at home. Planned experiences are largely based on what children enjoy and need to learn next. For example, the childminder invites children to use their senses to explore materials such as coloured rice. She encourages children to use tools for a purpose to fill and empty containers and alerts children to the sounds that the rice makes when pouring this onto the tray. This helps children to begin to make links to aspects of their natural world, such as the sound of the rain. The childminder keeps parents informed of their children's progress.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder forms a secure bond with each child. She offers children a great deal of support and encouragement during play and advocates that 'nothing is impossible'. This helps to instil children with high levels of self-confidence and contributes towards the strong perseverance skills that they show. The kind and friendly childminder involves children in thoughtful experiences. For example, they source healthy foods to create a harvest box to give to those in the community who are less fortunate. This contributes towards children adopting kind, helpful and considerate attitudes. Children thoroughly enjoy taking part in calming experiences, such as yoga sessions. These help to improve their balance, breathing and mindset and contribute towards their improved health and well-being. The childminder shares key information with teachers from other settings that children attend to help promote continuity in children's care and learning.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are helpful individuals who show high levels of care, respect and concern for the environment and for each other. They enjoy attending different social groups and gain the ability to form early friendships. Younger children actively join in with vocalisations and actions to favourite songs and quickly begin to string words together to formulate a simple sentence. Children are happy and clearly enjoy their time with the childminder. They use tools for a purpose to make marks on a large scale, listen to stories with increased attention and show interest in numbers and counting.
