and young people since the most recent full inspection
Since the last inspection, one young person has left the home in a planned and positive way. The recently improved children’s guide helped another young person when she moved into the home. She was able to recognise all of her new carers and feel familiar with the home as soon as she arrived. The manager recognises that the guide could be further improved, and a recommendation is made relating to this. Inspection report children’s home: SC457327 2 The manager has made good decisions in relation to the matching of young people living together. She ensures that she has the full information before making any decisions. and young people since the most recent full inspection
The previous requirements and recommendation are met. The registered manager, alongside staff members, has worked resolutely to avoid set practices and procedures so that young people experience a homely and loving environment. The improvements are notable, both subtly in the way that staff present themselves and in enhanced physical changes to the environment. Staff think carefully about the language that they use and how they present information. For example, the manager has reviewed young people’s plans and associated documents so that they are not superfluous or wordy. The plans are drawn up with young people and are meaningful to them. The manager has challenged the company’s policy on the automatic fitting of window restrictors in young people’s bedrooms. She is having discussions with senior leaders about an individualised approach for young people.
