p.1

The manager was registered with Ofsted on 28 January 2014.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This setting was inspected on 7 and 8 January 2019. A range of shortfalls were identified, including concerns about fire safety. These concerns specifically related to the competence of those completing fire risk assessments, and the arrangements in place to protect children against the risk of fire. A compliance notice was served under regulation 25 (1)(a).

p.1

This monitoring visit

This monitoring visit took place to review the provider’s response to the compliance notice. A review by an external company of the fire safety of the home has taken place. This has resulted in a series of recommendations which have been actioned. For example, fire doors now have the appropriate cold seal or intumescent strips and there have been changes to the use of some rooms, as required. The deputy manager confirmed, and was able to evidence, that there are now clear procedures and arrangements in place for monitoring and reviewing the fire safety of the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

No further requirements have been made as a result of this monitoring inspection. There remain several outstanding requirements from the earlier inspection in January 2019, and the due date for these is yet to pass. In addition, there remain two active compliance notices on the service. Ofsted will carry out a further monitoring visit to review the provider’s response to these notices.
