Monitoring visit Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The home, which is a local authority provision, provides care and accommodation for up to four children and young people who have emotional and/or behavioural difficulties and/or a learning disability. The home’s manager is yet to be registered with Ofsted.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This visit was undertaken to monitor progress following a full inspection on 19 December 2018 at which the home was judged as inadequate. In addition to the judgement of inadequate, a compliance notice was served under regulation 12. A notice to restrict accommodation was also issued. After the last full inspection, further safeguarding concerns arose. Senior managers within the local authority made the decision on 14 January 2019 to temporarily close the home. The recently appointed acting manager has submitted an application to be registered. It is envisaged that the home will re-open in due course under her leadership, with a refreshed and retrained staff team. This visit did not review progress against the requirements set at the last inspection or the compliance notice. These matters will be reviewed at the next inspection.
