This provision is outstanding
n The highly ambitious childminder continually expands her professional development. Her knowledge is consistently updated and her ideas refreshed. For example, she regularly attends training courses to ensure her practice is of the highest quality and children receive the very best care and education. n The childminder robustly monitors children's progress. Information about children's development is routinely shared between the childminder, parents and the local nursery class to ensure that learning is consistent. This supports children to progress swiftly, with any gaps in learning quickly identified and closed. n The childminder prepares children extremely well for school. For example, she encourages children to participate in daily activities to improve their pencil control and writing skills. n The childminder promotes diversity within all aspects of her practice. For example, children investigate how light is used in various festivals, such as Diwali, Christmas and

Hanukah. The childminder supports children to understand and accept differences in others as she encourages discussion when children observe people with disabilities. n The childminder provides stimulating areas within which children can learn, and this ensures they are extremely motivated to play, investigate and be imaginative. The children freely choose where they wish to play and follow their own interests. n The childminder makes children's best interests her top priority. For example, to support those children exceeding expected levels, she encourages parents to utilise the local nursery school for part of their care. This supports children to develop even further their blossoming personal skills and confidence. n Children make excellent progress and generally exceed expected stages of development.

Effectiveness of leadership and management is outstanding
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder confidently identifies signs and symptoms of abuse and knows the correct procedures for reporting any concerns about a child or adult. The childminder aspires to enable the highest outcomes for children and targets herself to ensure that children achieve at the fastest possible rate. Her clear vision for the future, accurate assessment of her strengths and well-defined priorities for improvement ensure that she continually progresses and enhances the quality of her service. For example, the childminder recognises that enhancement of the outdoor space would improve the children's learning experiences even further.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
Superb teaching ensures children are fully engaged, attentive and highly motivated to learn. The childminder promotes mathematical development especially well. She utilises every opportunity to support children's knowledge of number, shape, space and measurement. For example, as children play in the home corner, the childminder encourages them to weigh their baskets of food on old-fashioned weighing scales. She uses terms, such as heavier and lighter, and encourages children to think about how to lessen or increase the weight. The childminder helps children to identify the alphabet and count backwards as they interact with bright educational displays. The childminder encourages children to develop independence from a very young age. Babies attempt to feed themselves their dessert for the first time and she gives them time and encouragement to master their new skill.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder manages behaviour incredibly well. Her sensitive and consistent approach means that children are fully aware of rules and boundaries. Children behave beautifully and quickly respond to timely reminders. The childminder supports children to consider and adhere to values that are important to being a good citizen. She encourages children to be individuals and develop high levels of self-esteem, while being considerate to others and acquiring excellent social skills. The childminder offers children numerous opportunities to make choices about their day. For example, they choose to make their own fruit salad. This allows them to develop the physical skill of cutting their own fruit and supports them to make healthy choices. The childminder effectively supports parents to promote children's development at home. For example, she assists parents to help their children improve their writing skills.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Conversational speech is excellent. Confident children talk to each other and the childminder with ease. For example, they competently hold conversations about their morning's activities and their friend's birthday. Very young children pull themselves up on furniture and gleefully cruise around the room. Older children demonstrate their kind and caring natures as they carefully play with babies and show them how to operate their toys. Children work exceptionally well together. When measuring a long table, they negotiate how to help each other and realise that they can both hold the end of each tape measure to achieve their goal.
