any changes. The risk relating to one young person’s self-injurious behaviours is reducing. This is because the staff are effectively following risk assessment protocols, which for one individual includes regular room searches. The room searches are now clearly documented. Room search procedures have significantly improved and are undertaken in line with company policy. There is clear management oversight of the quality of the room searches. There has been an improvement in the rigour of the escalation of concerns to local authorities, particularly when children and young people can no longer be safely cared for. When this is the case, senior managers are taking a child-centred and collaborative approach to transitioning children and young people on from this service. The regulatory body is notified of all significant incidents. Consequently, the regulatory body can effectively monitor safeguarding practice.
