The provider's recruitment and vetting procedures are robust. She undertakes several checks to make sure that staff are suitable to work with children. Staff carry out daily risk assessments to minimise potential hazards and enable children to play safely. The provider ensures all relevant records are in place, and are confidential and well maintained to support the health and well-being of the children. Staff have good links with the school where children also attend. This helps to ensure that children's individual needs are met well.

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff make good use of the information gathered from teachers in the school to provide opportunities to develop children's existing skills. In addition, the club takes part in celebrating the school's cultural events. This helps to promote continuity in children's learning, such as children's growing awareness of diversity. The provider and staff encourage children to develop their communication skills. For example, they ask children about their day at school and other events in their lives. Staff encourage all children to learn to use the computers. They give children good support to help build up their skills and confidence in using information and communication technology aids. Children learn skills in using a mouse. They also learn skills in reading keyboard symbols and to know what they do. Staff promote children's physical development well.
