The provision is good
n Since registration, the childminder has developed good working partnerships with children's parents. She continually reviews her activity and makes changes to ensure children's needs are met. She has a positive approach to continuing to develop her knowledge and understanding about how children learn and develop. n Children clearly demonstrate a sense of well-being and that they feel safe in the childminder's home. They are confident to choose toys they wish to play with and show they are familiar with daily routines. n Parents are happy with their child's experience with the childminder. They make complimentary comments about the quality of the activities the childminder provides and how their child is making progress in her care. n Children are eager to take part in activities the childminder provides. They explore dinosaurs, small-world characters and construction materials. They thoroughly enjoy

Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder understands how to protect children's welfare and keep them safe. She has updated her knowledge of child protection through training. She has effective risk assessments in place and keeps children under close supervision as they play. Very young children begin to learn how to keep themselves safe as they help to tidy toys away when they have finished playing. The childminder shows a good knowledge of how children learn. She recognises that linking observations and assessments to the planning of activities and children's interests benefits children to continue to make progress.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Teaching is good. The childminder uses her skills to successfully engage children in their activities. She knows each child well and identifies suitable next steps that continue to build on what they already know. She then plans activities that provide challenges to help continue their progress. She talks to children as they play and shows them how things work. She allows children to decide what they want to do and follows their interests. Children respond very well to her gentle, yet enthusiastic interaction as they play together, and she speaks clearly so that very young children know what is expected of them.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder promotes children's emotional well-being effectively. She works very closely with parents to meet any specific requirements, such as when settling children in and supporting dietary needs. The ongoing communication between the childminder and parents is beneficial to children. The childminder follows children's home routines as closely as possible, coming to a compromise with parents when required. Children behave very well. They respond to the clear and consistent reminders from the childminder about being kind. Children are gradually developing an awareness of healthy lifestyles. They wash their hands before eating and enjoy healthy snacks. They play outside in the fresh air where they are encouraged to develop their large-muscle skills, such as by climbing and running.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children take part in a wide range of activities that helps them learn useful skills to prepare them for the next stage in their learning and for starting school. They are developing independence as they choose what they want to do and they make friendships, showing care and concern for one another. Children make good progress from their individual starting points.
