She gathers feedback from parents to help continually enhance the care and learning that she provides.

p.1

It is not yet outstanding because:

n At times, older and most-able children dominate the childminders attention. This occasionally leads to missed teaching opportunities for the childminder to extend the younger children's good learning. n The childminder has not fully developed the links with other early years providers to extend children's ongoing progress, such as through shared information.

She has a secure understanding of the procedures to follow if she has any concerns about children. The childminder ensures that her assistants are aware about her policies and procedures. She oversees their work with children. The childminder is vigilant about keeping children safe and completes detailed risk assessments at home and for outings. She regularly takes part in purposeful webinars to increase her knowledge and understanding. The childminder uses the information obtained well. For instance, she is now more aware about how to reflect on the activities that she provides and the learning that children gain from these. She then uses this to plan for the next steps in their learning. The childminder effectively shares children's progress with parents to monitor their overall development. This includes the

The childminder ensures that a variety of resources, such as pipettes, chalks and crayons are easily available for children. Their artwork adorns the walls. This helps to promote their self-esteem.

p.3

Outcomes for children are good

Children make good progress from their starting points. They are all well prepared for their future learning, including their eventual move on to school.
