Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder implements clear policies and procedures to help keep children safe. She understands her duties in supporting children's welfare and knows how to report any concerns if she suspects a child is at risk of harm. The childminder evaluates the quality of her setting well. She seeks and acts on feedback from others, such as other early years professionals, to help her to develop her practice. For instance, she has taken action since the last inspection and successfully raised the quality of teaching and outcomes for children. The childminder checks on children's ongoing progress well, which helps her identify and address any gaps in their learning.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder provides good opportunities for children to develop their skills in all areas of learning. Younger children enjoy learning how to stack different sized shapes. They develop their hand-eye coordination well and problem solve as they learn which shape can be stacked on another. The childminder assesses children's achievements regularly and knows them well. She observes what children can do and uses this information effectively to plan suitably challenging experiences overall. The childminder works with parents effectively to support children's development. For instance, she gathers detailed information from parents about what their children are able to do to help inform her planning for children's learning from the outset.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder regularly assesses risks in all areas that children use to identify and remove any hazards. Children behave well. The childminder shares her expectations with children, such as by providing praise when they do things that are positive, to help them understand what acceptable behaviour is. The childminder helps children learn about healthy lifestyles and effectively supports their physical well-being. For example, she works with parents to ensure children eat nutritious food and provides opportunities for children to be active. Children have good opportunities to learn about diversity and develop mutual respect for others. For instance, the childminder plans activities that help children to learn about different people in the community and others' uniqueness.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress and learn a range of skills that prepares them well for their future learning. For example, babies and toddlers learn to walk confidently, enjoy babbling and confidently explore activities that are set up for them. Children communicate their needs to others well. They develop good social skills, such as interacting with others confidently. Children learn to share, take turns and play with others kindly.
