The current application is awaiting a response from a local authority and from referees.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Training has taken place to improve the knowledge of staff in relation to sexually harmful behaviours, self-harm, ligatures (including their removal) and conducting effective room searches. The manager has taken some steps to validate the learning Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: SC454266 2 and how this is used in practice.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Discussions with staff demonstrated that they had improved their knowledge and understanding of risks as a result of receiving recent training. Staff could identify how the training had improved their understanding of how behaviours linked with risks and were able to recognise traits or behaviours that may indicate children or young people are at risk of harm. Staff were able to give the inspector examples of how their practice had improved as a result of their knowledge. This demonstrates that they are able to provide a better quality of care to children and young people in the home.
