Children make good progress from their starting capabilities and interests. n Children behave well. The childminder helps children to develop their understanding of boundaries and routines and is a good role model. She encourages and praises children, who learn to share, take turns and show respect for one another. n The childminder completes online training and works with the local authority team to help her continually develop her practice. This helps her to raise the quality of her provision and extend children's overall learning experiences well. n The childminder completes thorough risk assessments to minimise hazards and teaches children how to keep themselves safe successfully.

Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a clear understanding of her role and responsibility to protect children. She knows the procedures to follow if she has a concern about the welfare of a child and keeps up to date with current safeguarding guidance. The childminder monitors her practice well. For example, she recently attended training on nutritional awareness, to improve children's good health and overall well-being further. The childminder regularly reviews and tracks children's progress effectively and successfully closes any emerging gaps in their learning. She shares this information with parents to help promote consistency in children's care and learning. Parents are highly complimentary about the care their children receive.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder has a very good understanding of how children learn. She uses her knowledge of children's interests well, to plan interesting activities that motivate children to learn and progress further. For example, children enjoyed scooping out the seeds from their pumpkins and practised their early mark making when using paints. The childminder extended their learning further. For example, she actively encouraged children to talk about their creations to promote their speaking skills and repeated new words to increase their vocabulary. The childminder encourages children well to solve problems, express their ideas and make connections. For example, children enjoyed matching and sorting wooden puzzles to make a train line. The childminder extended their learning by asking them to describe the places they will visit with their train.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder constantly gives children her time and attention and has very warm and positive relationships with them. She uses positive and purposeful praise and encouragement. Children have good opportunities to develop their independence and the childminder encourages children to tackle challenges and try new things. For example, younger children persevere well to complete tasks, such as putting on their shoes and coats when going outdoors to play. They help to tidy up and initiate their own play. The childminder promotes children's good health effectively. They benefit from eating nutritious meals and are regularly physically active, for example, as they ride their bicycles and run around outdoors.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children gain useful skills for their future learning, including their move on to school. They show enthusiasm in all of their activities and are eager to learn. They enjoy choosing and singing their favourite nursery rhymes and join in the actions for the songs. Children attend a variety of outings, such as to local parks and libraries. This helps them to develop good social skills and learn about the wider world.
