The provision is good
n Aspects of the childminder's teaching are outstanding. She has excellent communication skills and a remarkable enthusiasm for her role. She provides exciting and imaginative activities that are highly appealing to children and contribute to the exceptional levels of concentration and involvement that they demonstrate. n The childminder provides a very warm, welcoming and highly stimulating environment where children are extremely confident and demonstrate a strong sense of belonging. They settle into her care remarkably quickly. They form strong bonds with the childminder, develop early friendships and play together harmoniously. n Partnerships with parents are effective. The childminder involves parents in the assessments of children's learning and shares ideas with them to extend this at home. Parents praise her for her 'superb efforts'. They are particularly pleased with their children's social development.
p.1
The provision is good
n Children make good progress in their learning and achieve well. They demonstrate high levels of curiosity and motivation to learn, helping to prepare them well for school. n The childminder builds on her experience and skills by, for example, sharing knowledge with other childminders and researching online. This helps her to identify new ways to ignite children's curiosity and engage them in challenging and enjoyable activities.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
n Occasionally, the childminder moves children on from activities too quickly. She does not consistently identify times when they are absorbed in their learning and would benefit from more time to develop their own ideas and preferences during play.

p.2
Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder understands the issues that may affect a child's welfare and knows what to do if she has a concern. She has a genuine love of her role and strives to provide the very best care for children. The childminder reflects on her practice and gathers feedback from parents and children to help her to identify ways to improve. She demonstrates a strong capacity for continuous improvement. The childminder assesses children's progress regularly, helping her to swiftly identify areas of learning where they might need extra support. She works in close partnership with parents and other professionals to support children to catch up in their learning.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children demonstrate a love of learning. The childminder's interactions with children are exemplary and they become engrossed in activities. For example, during story and song times, children's attention is set and their sheer enjoyment is evident from their smiles and giggles. The childminder supports children's developing imaginative skills well. For example, children make up stories as they enjoy getting farm animals dirty in a muddy mixture and wash them afterwards. She further extends this by helping the children to make a farm from a range of natural materials, which also supports their creativity. The childminder supports children's developing language skills particularly well. She communicates clearly with children modelling new words and correct grammar and pronunciation. This contributes to children's good progress in this area of learning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children's behaviour is exemplary. They are caring, considerate and actively help one another. For example, children reach for a book for a friend and invite them to sit close by to share a story. The childminder consistently praises children's efforts, contributing to the superb levels of confidence and self-esteem they demonstrate. She prioritises children's health and well-being. They have excellent opportunities for fresh air and exercise. The childminder has very high expectations of what children can achieve. Children as young as two years are remarkably independent. They capably complete tasks, such as managing their clothing and slicing fruit for snack. The childminder ensures that her home is an exciting place for children to be, for example, by changing the room lay out and resources to ignite children's interest when they arrive.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children achieve the levels of development that are typical for their age range and exceed these in their personal, social and emotional development. Those children who have minor gaps in their learning make good progress and soon catch up. Children develop good skills in mathematics and literacy. For example, they draw and compare shapes and become familiar with words in print when looking at labels and posters in the veterinary surgery role-play area. This contributes to the good progress they make in these areas of learning and helps to prepare them well for later learning.
