The provision is good
n Children have good opportunities to develop their knowledge and understanding of the world. For instance, children discuss the different size balls during water play and pour the bubbly suds to fill containers. n Staff are suitably trained to provide good-quality care and education to children. Procedures for professional development and training are effective. Staff are up to date with new initiatives and this helps to improve outcomes for children. n Partnership with parents and the community are strong. All are fully involved when celebrating the uniqueness of the provision through a range of cultural events. Parents speak highly of the provision, positively praising staff for enabling their children to be happy and well educated. n Children develop a strong sense of security and emotional well-being. They enjoy trusting relationships with staff who are patient and kind. Staff welcome children warmly and this enables them to quickly settle. Children behave well.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
n Staff miss some opportunities to enhance and extend children's early mathematical skills. n At times staff do not give children the time that they need to enable them to process their thoughts and respond with their answers, to extend their learning even further.

Effectiveness of leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. Staff are aware of the procedures to follow should they have concerns about the welfare of the children in their care. Managers have a reflective approach. This is evident through their self-evaluation processes where they have identified areas for further improvement. A recent review of children's learning has enabled staff to sharpen their focus on improving the outdoor activities. Children enjoy playing outdoors, which supports their good learning and development. Managers are keenly focused on staffs' professional development, and regular reviews, supervision and appraisal meetings take place. Effective monitoring helps to ensure that staff practice remains relevant and supports good outcomes for children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff are passionate about providing a stimulating learning environment for children. They have suitable monitoring and assessment systems that support children to make good progress from their starting points. Staff work in partnership with parents, the church community and the local authority early years team. Plans for children's development needs are shared, monitored and suitably reinforced to support next steps in their learning. Children have good opportunities to develop their early reading and creative skills, they independently select their names to register their attendance and when they select pasta to create a picture.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children respond well to positive praise and encouragement. They demonstrate very good behaviour. For instance, they arrive calmly and settle quickly to their chosen tasks. Children develop a good understanding of healthy eating and personal hygiene. They know that fresh fruit is healthy and that they wash their hands before eating and after going to the toilet. Older children demonstrate good social skills as they share equipment and wait patiently for their snack. Children enjoy exploring the world around them, such as when they search in the garden for fallen leaves. They examine the details of the different colours they can see and discuss this with staff.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children, including those who are learning English as an additional language make good progress. They are well prepared for school. Children are kind towards each other. They cooperate well during large-group sessions and listen attentively to instructions. For instance, children join in enthusiastically with action songs during circle and drumming sessions outdoors.
