The childminder ensures her assistant understands his responsibilities. The childminder demonstrates a good commitment to making improvements to her provision. She meets with other childminders and researches information online to develop practice ideas. The childminder reflects on her practice and takes account of the views of parents.

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder monitors children's progress and regularly shares this information with parents. The childminder supports children's communication skills well. For example, she talks to children during play, uses effective questioning and models language to help develop children's vocabulary. Children have frequent opportunities to use their home languages, as well as English. Children have good opportunities to develop their mathematical skills. They learn to recognise shapes and colours during creative activities, and develop an understanding of position and size during matching games.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children are developing healthy lifestyles. They thoroughly enjoy playing outside. They use wheeled toys and hunt for bugs in the garden. The childminder ensures she protects children from the sun and that they stay hydrated on hot days. The childminder provides a healthy diet, which meets children's individual dietary needs. The childminder provides an inclusive service. She helps children gain an understanding of beliefs other than their own and to develop respect for each other.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children, including those who learn English as an additional language, make good progress from their starting points. Children are confident and motivated to learn. They focus well during activities, interact well and develop good social skills. Children are developing skills in preparation for the next stage in their learning, including their eventual move to school.
