This provision is good
The childminder has accessed training and support since the last inspection to help raise the quality of teaching and ensure she meets statutory requirements. For example, she has increased her knowledge of completing the progress check for two- year-olds. The childminder has a good understanding of how children learn through play. She provides a welcoming and stimulating environment, which helps to support children's interests and motivates them to explore and learn. The childminder has strong working relationships with parents, who comment that their children are happy and make good progress. They feel that the childminder is trustworthy and reliable. Children build secure attachments to the childminder. They are confident to explore the environment and ask the childminder for any additional resources they need. Children make good progress in their development and learning. They achieve developmental milestones appropriate to their age and ability consistently.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder has not yet fully developed her tracking of children's progress to include a greater range of information from parents about children's prior learning on entry At times, the childminder does not make the most of spontaneous opportunities to extend children's knowledge and promote their thinking skills.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint evaluation of an activity with the childminder. The inspector held a number of discussions with the childminder and looked at relevant documentation such as children's learning records and evidence of the suitability of all persons living and working on the premises. The inspector spoke to children during the inspection. The inspector took account of the views of parents through the written feedback provided.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder understands the possible signs and symptoms of abuse and is confident about what to do if she has any concerns about a child's welfare. The childminder is reflective and seeks feedback from parents to help improve her provision. She has developed a detailed professional development plan and makes good use of available training. For example, she makes effective use of new ideas and teaching techniques from courses to help improve her practice and provision. The childminder actively promotes children's well-being, for example she checks that toys are safe and ensures children hold her hand while out.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder supports children's learning effectively. For example, when children express an interest in making bicycles from construction materials, the childminder encourages them to consider what different parts are needed. The childminder helps children to develop good mathematical skills. For example, she encourages them to count slowly to build their understanding of number and quantity. The childminder observes and assesses children's development, which helps her to plan activities that support their good progress in all areas. She works closely with other settings that children attend and shares information that helps to provide continuity in their care and learning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder has a warm, caring manner, which helps children to settle well. She organises the environment to encourage children to access resources and toys independently. Children confidently make choices about what they want to play with next. The childminder teaches children skills to help keep themselves safe, such as the proper use of scissors. She knows children well and shows an interest in their lives outside her setting, which helps children to feel valued. Children show independence in self-care, for example, they take themselves to the toilet, wash their hands and understand the importance of drinking plenty of water on a hot day. The childminder encourages children to use good manners. Children behave well and are keen to help, for example, to tidy away toys after use.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are developing key skills for the next stage in their learning, such as school. They return to favourite activities throughout the day to build upon their ideas. Children are confident talkers, who ask questions and make suggestions during play. They are enthusiastic learners, who are keen to try new activities and show perseverance to keep trying if a task is challenging.
