This provision is good
Children settle quickly into the childminder's home. She is kind and caring, and children display secure and loving bonds with her. Partnerships with parents are good. Parents are valued as a large part of their children's successes and achievements. The childminder includes them in helping to set the next steps in their children's learning to help them excel. The childminder helps children to become curious about nature in the world around them. For instance, they like to go on bug hunts together and pick flowers. Children make good progress, including those who have special educational needs. The childminder is very attentive towards their changing routines and requirements, and helps them build on their self-esteem and confidence. The childminder is very reflective in continuously identifying areas of her provision to constantly raise the quality of the care she provides to the very best levels. She

successfully captures the views and comments of parents and the children.

It is not yet outstanding because:
The systems used for the monitoring and tracking of children's development do not precisely ensure that gaps in their learning are identified quickly enough. The childminder occasionally misses opportunities to expand on children's learning to help them to build a deeper understanding.

What the setting needs to do to improve further

Inspection activities
The inspector had a tour of the areas of the home used for the childminding provision. The inspector also held discussions with the childminder about her use of self- evaluation. The inspector held discussions with the childminder and the children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector also discussed with the childminder how she plans for her professional development. The inspector sampled a range of documentation, including suitability checks, policies and procedures and children's developmental records. The inspector took account of the views and comments of parents. The inspector observed the teaching and learning opportunities indoors and outdoors, and the impact these have on children's development. The inspector also held a discussion with the childminder about how she safeguards the children in her care.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder is vigilant in how she protects the children in her care and how she would identify the signs of abuse. She is confident in the procedures she would use to report a concern to protect a child's welfare. The childminder understands the importance of sharing information with other settings that children attend to help them to have a joined-up approach towards their future learning. The childminder plans well for her professional development and shares and seeks information with other childminders to help build on this further. The childminder has worked well towards the recommendations from her last inspection. For instance, children independently understand the need to wash their hands and they enjoy reading the signs on the vegetable patch to build on their early literacy skills. The childminder uses robust risk assessments to protect children in both the home and when on outings. Children show a

growing awareness of risk. For instance, they follow the rules when on the trampoline to prevent injuries to themselves or others.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder observes children and uses the information she gains to provide and support children's own interests and choices. The childminder helps children to build on their early mathematics in their everyday play and learning. For instance, they enter into pertinent conversations about how tall the sunflowers and sweet peas have grown. The childminder helps children to build on their physical development and their general well- being. For example, children enjoy using the swing under the apple tree and using their balance and coordination skills to juggle with the rainbow balls.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder is kind and caring. She is helping children to learn about diversity and disabilities in the wider world and the community around them. For instance, children take great delight in learning sign language for different animals and then using the world globe to find their natural habitats. Children behave well. The childminder is a good role model who prides herself on helping children to quickly manage their own feelings. Children are very patient and respectful towards each other. The childminder helps children to learn about healthy eating. For instance, children grow an abundance of fruit and vegetables that they tend in the garden and then pick them to eat.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress from their starting points. They are confident and show a determination in completing tasks independently. For instance, children access the many board games to spark their imagination and memory skills and follow the instructions well. They are building the skills for the next stages in their learning.
