This provision is good
Staff take time to establish strong bonds with children and they provide sensitive and nurturing support for children's emotional well-being. Staff work closely with other professionals. They follow their guidance well to help them to plan targeted interventions to support children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities. Children go on regular outings to learn about their community and the wider world. Outings help to enrich children's play and learning. For instance, children's spontaneous role play incorporates what they learned during a planting activity at the local park. Relationships with parents are strong and two-way communication is supported well. Parents develop a clear sense of trust in staff and value the support their children receive. The manager evaluates the provision and takes account of the views of parents to drive ongoing improvements.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Staff do not always seize opportunities to help children to extend on their social and self-care skills. On occasion, staff do not always give children enough time to think and work out problems for themselves before offering a solution.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector took account of parents' views through verbal and written feedback. The inspector completed a joint observation with the manager. The inspector held discussions with the manager and looked at relevant documentation, including evidence of the suitability of staff working in the provision.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Staff have a good understanding of child protection and of how to keep children safe. The manager evaluates learning gained from training and cascades this information to the staff team, which helps to promote a consistent approach to all safeguarding procedures and behaviour management. Successful partnership working supports children and their families as required. The manager is highly dedicated to her role and committed to offering children the very best start in life. She and her staff support and work with parents effectively to promote the health and safety of children. The manager observes staff practice and regularly meets with them to reflect continually on the success of the provision and to identify any areas for improvement.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff regularly observe and closely monitor children's progress. They highlight the areas that children need to learn next. Parents are well informed about children's achievements. They are offered information and ideas on how to support learning at home. Staff plan activities to promote children's mathematical development. For instance, they encourage children to count as they sing traditional nursery rhymes. Staff extend this activity further by encouraging children to show the number of speckled frogs with their fingers and count backwards from five to zero. Children are learning to count with increasing accuracy. They listen with pleasure to stories and enjoy rhythmical activities. Children know the words and actions to familiar rhymes and songs.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The manager promotes healthy lifestyles effectively and shares ideas with parents about providing nutritious food. For instance, she shares recipes and photographs of homemade soup to support children's healthy eating habits at home. Children are settled and content. Staff demonstrate a caring manner and offer regular praise. They show deep concern for children's feelings and meet their care needs without delay, such as recognising when they need a cuddle or reassurance. This helps children to develop a strong sense of security and supports their self-esteem. Staff organise activities to help children to familiarise themselves with the school environment. Children watch the school sports day and listen to cultural talks during an assembly time.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children, including those for whom the provision receives additional funding, make good progress. Children are developing strong literacy skills and recognise letters, and enjoy daily phonics sessions. This helps children to develop the skills they need for the next stage in their learning. Children demonstrate friendly behaviour and seek out others with whom to play. They are keen learners and communicate confidently with staff and their peers. Children know and can follow consistent routines, and can sit for increasing periods in small adult-led groups.
