This provision is good
The childminder has worked on the actions raised at her last inspection. She maintains a daily record of children's attendance. This helps to keep children safe. The childminder has a good understanding of how to assess and monitor children's development and she involves parents in this. She plans activities which support children to make good progress in their learning. Children are settled and have formed close attachments with the calm childminder and other children that attend. The childminder's settling-in procedures support children who have only been at the setting for a few days to be happy and confident to explore their environment. The childminder encourages children to investigate and explore resources themselves. This helps children to develop their understanding of the world around them and to help them to solve simple problems themselves. The childminder is committed to continually improving outcomes for children. She

reflects well upon her setting and the opportunities that she provides for children. She attends regular training and evaluates the impact it has on her setting.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not consistently take all opportunities to promote young children's speaking skills even further. The childminder has not established effective partnerships with all other providers that children attend to fully support continuity and consistency in children's learning.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint evaluation of an activity with the childminder. The inspector held a number of discussions with the childminder. She looked at relevant documentation and evidence of the suitability of persons living in the household. The inspector took account of the views of parents through reading written feedback they provided. The inspector spoke to children at appropriate times.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder supports children to learn how to manage potential risks themselves. For example, when children are investigating different ways to use the slide, the childminder asks them to think about how they can do it safely. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a good understanding of child protection issues and the procedures to follow if she has concerns about a child's welfare. The childminder keeps parents regularly updated on the progress that their children make in her setting in a variety of ways. She writes regular progress summaries and updates a private social media page with photographs of the children engaged in play. Parents are happy with the care and teaching that the childminder provides and comment that she is, 'attentive, patient and lots of fun'.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The highly qualified childminder has a good knowledge of the children in her care, their interests and how they prefer to learn. She plans a wide range of activities which are fun, stimulating and are responsive to children's needs. They spend a lot of time exploring the environment in the local community, for example, going on bug hunts. This also supports their physical well-being effectively. They plant vegetables and fruit in the garden and the childminder teaches children how the water helps the fruit to grow. The childminder incorporates counting and colour into the children's play and routines, which help to develop their mathematical understanding. She verbally labels objects to help build young children's vocabulary and they enjoy using props when listening to a familiar story.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder gives children plenty of praise and encouragement which help to build self-esteem and confidence. She gives clear explanations of rules and expectations which children respond positively to and behave well. The childminder incorporates a range of experiences into the daily routine to help children to develop independence and to manage their own personal needs. For example, children are encouraged to cut up their own fruit at lunchtime and young children are encouraged to take off their own shoes. They also help to care for other living animals and help to regularly feed the rabbit. The environment is welcoming and homely and supports children to make decisions about their own play.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are motivated and interested in the activities provided and are making good progress in their learning and development. They are happy, confident and follow instructions well. They enjoy investigating in water with a range of tools and containers to take the learning in their own direction. For example, younger children enjoy filling and pouring while older children use a range of tools to catch water beads and watch what happens when they drop them on the floor. They learn about similarities and differences between themselves and others and explore what they look like when wearing a range of spectacles. Children are well prepared for their future learning and the move to school.
