This provision is good
The childminder underpins her practice with thorough risk assessments and up-to-date policies and procedures. These help her to keep children safe wherever they are in the community. She keeps parents very well informed about outings and daily events. Parents commend the childminder for her 'incredible support' and say that 'her compassion extends past her working hours'. They greatly appreciate the 'crucial role' she plays in advancing their children's development and how she shares her invaluable expertise with them. The childminder listens carefully to parents when children start and gathers secure information about what their child can and cannot do. This gives her a clear baseline, which she uses well to evaluate children's progress in all areas of their learning and development. The childminder puts experiences in place that help children quickly gain confidence in their own abilities. Children are curious to explore and persevere with challenges from

Inspection activities
The inspector observed, listened to and talked with children as they played outdoors. The inspector reviewed policies and discussed the procedures relating to children's safety and welfare with the childminder. The inspector looked at children's records, the childminder's planning and evaluation of activities, and information exchanged with parents. The inspector took account of the views of parents spoken to on the day and in written communication. The inspector spoke with the childminder about the impact of her training, experience and practice on raising outcomes for children.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder is very experienced and continues to improve her practice year after year. For example, she is proactive in raising the quality of her teaching through online training and discussions with her wider professional network. Children quickly engage in new activities that are both imaginative and thought provoking. The childminder's assessments of children's achievements are accurate and swiftly shared with their parents. She monitors the rate of children's progress clearly to identify and address any areas where children may need more help. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has an excellent understanding of child protection and ensures that children's safety is paramount. She knows how to respond swiftly and appropriately to any such concerns.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder skilfully adapts her teaching to cater for each child's age, stage of development and interests. For example, she targets each child's next steps in learning through activities linked with a favourite book. Toddlers hear and copy animal sounds and names as they search through crates in a make-believe zoo. Older children think carefully and ask challenging questions as they work out which habitat is best suited to each animal. The childminder provides children with a wide range of learning experiences. She sensitively observes, follows and extends their play naturally. Children hear her model higher levels of language and include new vocabulary and phrases as they express their own ideas.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
The childminder is extremely kind and attentive. Children quickly form secure emotional attachments with her and they flourish in her care. For example, children sleep well, try a wider range of nutritious foods and rapidly gain more confidence and independence in doing things for themselves. The childminder works exceptionally well with parents to promote stability and continuity for children during times of change. She is highly professional, respectful and thoroughly supportive of parents' vital role in their children's welfare and learning. The childminder is an excellent role model. Children meet her consistent and high expectations for showing kindness to others and working as a team.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children of all ages make very good progress and are well prepared for the next stage in their learning, including school. They listen attentively, behave courteously and concentrate well. Children develop good physical skills, such as manoeuvring large garden toys safely and handling small tools with precision. They enjoy sensory play and opportunities to use a range of materials creatively. Children begin to express themselves with crayons and pencils, preparing them with good foundation skills for writing. They are curious to discover the world around them and mix well with other children.
