This provision is good
The childminder monitors each child's progress regularly and identifies areas, such as speech and language, in which they need further support. She shares information with parents and other professionals involved with the children to help plan effectively for their future learning. This helps to reduce gaps in their learning and all children make good progress from their starting points. Children respond well to songs and rhymes, joining in with actions and building on their imaginations. For instance, they say 'sh' and put a finger to their lips as they lie down and pretend to be sleeping 'bunnies'. The childminder and her assistants support children's emotional development well. Children interact confidently with others and build positive relationships. For instance, they engage in role-play experiences and pretend to make tea for the adults.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Although the childminder understands her responsibility to complete suitability checks for her assistants, she has not followed processes through to completion. The childminder has not considered ways to minimise interruptions to children's play and learning, particularly during some group activities. Self-evaluation is not fully effective. The childminder has not identified and addressed all weaknesses in practice and provision.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the children and how the childminder and her assistants interacted with them. The inspector took account of the views of parents and children. The inspector viewed a sample of documents, including children's learning records. The inspector carried out a joint observation with the childminder and assessed how she monitors teaching practice. The inspector held discussions with the childminder and her assistants at appropriate times.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder has only partially completed suitability checks for an assistant. Even so, this has no impact on the children as the assistant does not have unsupervised contact with them and was removed from the ratios as soon as the childminder learned that the process had not been completed. The childminder has addressed weaknesses identified at the previous inspection. For instance, she maintains an accurate record of children's days and hours of attendance. She reviews her assistants' practice regularly and supports their professional development. This helps to ensure consistency in the quality of teaching. Safeguarding is effective. The team keeps up to date with current safeguarding guidelines, for instance, through relevant training. The childminder ensures her assistants understand the procedures to follow should they have concerns for children's welfare.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder and her assistants stimulate children's curiosity effectively and encourage them to explore the natural world. For instance, children examine mini-beasts, using a magnifying glass, and eagerly state 'let us find the next one'. The assistants support older children's mathematical skills effectively. For example, children learn to sort cups in the order of their size. The assistants challenge children's learning effectively. For instance, they hide a cup and encourage children to guess which one is missing, building on their problem-solving skills. The assistants use their knowledge and skills effectively to support children's understanding of letter shapes and the sounds they represent. Older children write their names confidently. The childminder completes accurate assessments of children's progress and shares information effectively with parents and schools when children transfer. This helps to support continuity in children's experiences.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder and her assistants teach children good hygiene practices, such as washing hands at appropriate times. They provide regular opportunities for children to be physically active. Children develop their hand-to-eye coordination. For instance, they learn to aim and toss rings onto pegs. The childminder and her assistants support children's positive behaviour effectively. For instance, when children are attentive, they say 'thank you for good listening'. Children feel encouraged and develop a positive sense of self- esteem.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Older children explore a range of activities that helps them to learn about diversity. For example, they explore toy models of people who have disabilities, such as those in wheelchairs, and ask questions curiously to clarify their thinking. Children learn to respect and value differences. Young children build on their independence. For instance, they learn to take their shoes off after outdoor activities and feed themselves independently. Children are prepared well for future learning.
