This provision is good
The childminder effectively supports and supervises her assistants. They understand the learning and development requirements, and use their knowledge to assess and plan for the children's individual learning needs. The childminder keeps her home safe and the children move around with confidence. Children make their own choices of activities and where they would like to play. Children are secure and safe. The childminder skilfully supports children's good language development. For example, she asks questions to help children use their developing language. Children recall their morning in nursery and the activities they have enjoyed. Children have good opportunities to develop their growing independence, such as feeding themselves and knowing when and how to wash their hands. The childminder has a good partnership with parents. For example, she communicates well to ensure they know about their child's progress and how they can extend the
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not consistently use opportunities to help children to challenge themselves and take safe risks. Children have few opportunities to strengthen their social skills and understanding of their community.

Inspection activities
The inspector looked at the rooms and resources children use. The inspector observed children's play and their conversations with the childminder and her assistant in the indoor and outdoor environment. The inspector looked at documentation and discussed the systems the childminder uses to observe and record children's progress. The inspector discussed how the childminder evaluates her service and her priorities for improvement. The inspector completed a joint observation with the childminder.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder has taken action to address the areas for improvement identified at the previous inspection. For example, Ofsted now have relevant details about the assistants who work with the childminder, to help to keep children safe. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a secure understanding of current child protection issues. She confidently identifies signs and symptoms that may suggest children's welfare is at risk. The childminder has clear procedures to ensure she contacts the relevant agencies promptly. She evaluates her work well and makes changes to help children to have fun and make progress as they learn. The childminder has developed partnerships with the local authority. She completes suitable training to ensure that she and the assistants are up to date with their childcare knowledge, which benefits the children in their care.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder knows the children well and plans activities to suit their learning needs. Her good teaching skills and assessments help her to recognise and close any gaps in children's learning, so they can quickly catch up. For example, she arranges activities that encourage children to develop their creative skills. Children enjoy playing with and exploring the texture of wet and dry sand. They use their hand-to-eye coordination well to fill the buckets and tip the sand to try and make a sandcastle. Children listen well and understand how to make choices. For example, they decide whether they want to play inside or out. Children are delighted to play outside with water. They carefully transport water, laughing as it spills, making them and their friends wet.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children form secure attachments to the childminder and her assistant, calling their names as they play. The childminder notices the changing needs of the children and offers kind support to any child who is feeling tired. Children hold their arms out for cuddles and the childminder responds quickly to ensure they feel secure and content. The childminder helps children to learn how to keep themselves safe. For example, she talks to them about not running inside and to sit down when they are eating to avoid choking hazards. The childminder offers good levels of praise, helping children to develop a sense of achievement. For example, she praises them when they help to tidy up and to care for their environment.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress from their starting points and develop useful skills for their future learning and eventual move to school. Children are developing good social skills and learn how to take turns, for example, when they are using the slide. Children develop good communication and language skills and manners. For example, they remember to say 'please' and 'thank you' at appropriate times.
