This provision is good
The childminder observes children's development closely and plans accurate next steps in their learning. All children make good progress from the moment they start at the setting. The childminder supports children's language development well. She carefully listens and responds to them, and gives children the time they need to think and speak. Children are becoming confident speakers. Children behave well. The childminder sets clear rules and boundaries, and children follow them consistently. The childminder reflects on her practice and plans accurately towards future improvements. She invites the suggestions from parents and children to include everyone involved in her provision.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not always make strong links with all other settings that children attend, to help her to provide even more consistency in their learning and development. Overall, the childminder supports children's literacy development well. However, children do not always have full opportunities to practise their early writing skills.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector had a tour of the premises during the inspection. The inspector talked to the children and the childminder at convenient times during the inspection. The inspector observed children's play and evaluated an activity with the childminder. The inspector sought the views from parents through written feedback. The inspector looked at a range of relevant documentation relating to safeguarding, policies and procedures, and learning and development documents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder is experienced and ensures she keeps her knowledge and skills up to date effectively. For example, she researches how to support children's speech and includes her learning into her own practice regularly. Since her last inspection, she has extended the opportunities for babies and children to use all of their senses in play. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a clear understanding of what to do if she has a concern about a child's welfare. She keeps her training up to date and reviews her policies regularly to ensure that she fully understands the local child protection procedures.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder has high expectations for children. She challenges children's mathematical development well. Children name different shapes and the childminder poses challenging questions, such as asking how to make one shape by dividing another. She puts the theory to test and children celebrate when their predictions are correct. The childminder forms close relationships with parents. She shares regular information about children's achievements and her plans towards their next steps.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children learn how to keep themselves safe. During a walk, the children know how to cross roads safely. The childminder gives them clear instructions and supervises them closely to help to keep children safe. The childminder tends to babies' and children's needs well. For instance, she notices when children are tired and brings forwards their snack and bottle time, and settles them for an earlier sleep. The childminder helps children to lead healthy lifestyles. They go on regular walks and have lots of opportunities to play in the childminder's garden to gain plenty of exercise. The childminder helps children to learn about each other. She encourages them to recognise their similarities and differences, to enhance their understanding about diversity. She takes children to regular groups to meet other children of similar ages. This helps them learn to socialise and make new friends.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress towards their next steps in learning, including those who speak English as an additional language. Children build good physical skills. For example, babies learn to walk and older children ride on scooters. Children develop early reading skills well. Babies select books and look through the pages. Older children re-enact and learn parts of their favourite stories. All children are becoming independent. They learn to tend to their own self care needs, such as feeding and toileting themselves. This all helps to prepare them well towards their eventual move to school.
