This provision requires improvement. It is not yet good because:
The childminder has not followed the correct procedures to notify Ofsted of all adults living on the premises to ensure suitability checks are completed. Furthermore, she has not informed Ofsted about changes to her address and days and hours of operation in a timely manner. Although the childminder makes some evaluation of her practice, this is not consistently effective to help her develop her teaching further. She does not include the views of all parents and children to fully support her continuous improvement. The childminder does not routinely gather sufficient information from parents regarding children's capabilities on entry. There are limited opportunities for children to engage in activities that support their understanding of other cultures. Although the childminder shares positive feedback about a range of subjects, she does not have highly effective strategies to help parents fully support their child's learning at
p.1
It has the following strengths
Children settle well and are content in the homely environment. They have warm relationships with the childminder and her family. The childminder supervises children well. Children develop their physical skills effectively. The childminder provides space and resources for them to practise their large-muscle development and movement.

develop self-evaluation to identify areas to further improve teaching and outcomes for children, and include the views of parents and children develop the system for gathering information from parents about children's capabilities when they start enhance opportunities for children to experience a wider range of cultures and diversity extend ways in which parents are further supported to contribute to their child's learning at home.
p.2
Inspection activities
This inspection was carried out following the risk assessment process. The inspector had a tour of the premises and reviewed the resources with the childminder. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector held discussions with the childminder and children throughout the inspection. The inspector completed a joint evaluation of an activity with the childminder. The inspector looked at a range of documentation, including policies and procedures, risk assessments and the children's learning and assessment records.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management requires improvement
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder knows the procedures to follow should she have any concerns about a child's welfare. However, she has not provided relevant information to Ofsted about all adults living on the premises to allow it to complete a relevant suitability check. This does not have a significant impact on children's welfare as they are supervised at all times. Furthermore, the childminder has not followed the required procedure to inform Ofsted about changes in a timely manner. She completes risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards. The childminder has begun to evaluate her setting; however, she does not fully involve parents and children. She does not identify all areas to improve her practice and teaching further. The childminder shares information with parents to ensure they are kept informed about their child's day. She regularly observes children and creates next steps in their learning.
p.3
Effectiveness of the leadership and management requires improvement
However, the childminder does not gather sufficient information about children's capabilities when they start or support parents fully to continue children's learning at home.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Children enjoy the childminder's friendly interaction, they listen and respond to her instructions well. The childminder introduces mathematical concepts during activities and everyday routines. Children enjoy mark making and taking part in craft activities; for example, as they explore paint using their hands. She introduces and models new words and simple sentences to support children's understanding and speaking skills. Younger children practise their physical skills, such as when pulling themselves up on low-level furniture. Children have daily fresh air and exercise, such as when they visit local parks.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare require improvement
Weaknesses in leadership and management mean that children's safety is not assured. The childminder does not provide children with sufficient opportunities to learn about people and communities within the wider world. However, she encourages children to understand right from wrong and children behave well. Children receive frequent praise and encouragement for their achievements, which helps to develop their self-esteem and confidence. The childminder provides activities which are enjoyable and engaging. She supports children to develop personal independence and manage tasks for themselves. For example, she encourages younger children to feed themselves.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children confidently interact with adults. All children, including those who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress in the care of the childminder. They are curious and explore their environment. Children develop a wide range of skills in preparation for their learning at nursery and eventually school.
