This provision is good
Children make good progress from their starting points. The childminder monitors children's progress well. She effectively identifies areas where they need extra support and narrows any gaps in their learning and development. The childminder places a high focus on teaching children about healthy lifestyles. For example, they benefit from exceptionally healthy and nutritious food, and enjoy a wide range of exciting play and physical activities outdoors. Children's emotional well-being is supported exceptionally well by the childminder. They consistently demonstrate excellent behaviour and respect for each other. Children are confident and display high levels of self-esteem. The childminder regularly identifies relevant training and support. She works closely with the local authority team and carries out training. This helps her to raise the quality of her provision and children's overall learning experiences.
p.1

enhance opportunities for parents to be more fully involved in sharing information about their children's learning at home.
p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed the interactions between the childminder and the children, and the activities in which they engaged. The inspector viewed the parts of the premises used for childminding and talked to the childminder and the children at appropriate times. The inspector looked at a range of documentation, including risk assessments, children's records, and the childminder's policies and procedures. The inspector and childminder jointly observed children at play. The inspector reviewed parents' feedback by sampling written documents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The childminder monitors her practice well and has addressed the recommendations made at her previous inspection. For example, she provides more opportunities for children to extend their understanding of mathematical language. The childminder regularly reviews and tracks children's progress effectively and shares this information with parents to help promote consistency in children's care and learning. Safeguarding is effective. The childminder understands how to keep children safe from harm. She is clear about what procedures to follow if she has any concern about the welfare of a child. The childminder undertakes regular risk assessments to help keep children safe and secure.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder is experienced and uses good teaching skills to extend children's learning through their daily activities and routines. Her interactions are exciting and engaging for children, and their communication skills are supported well. For example, the childminder describes what children are doing and asks questions to extend their learning and vocabulary. The childminder builds on children's emerging mathematical skills effectively. For example, she encourages children to play with shape sorters and count during activities. Younger children are creative and play imaginatively with a range of materials. For example, they use dough and shape sorters to make different animals. The childminder extends children's learning further, and asks them to identify lengths and colours and to feel the different textures.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children are extremely happy, settled and form exceptionally close attachments to the childminder. They approach her readily for cuddles and reassurance, confident their needs will be fully understood and met successfully. Children develop exemplary levels of independence during activities. For example, they help to tidy up and prepare their own snacks. They learn highly effective skills around personal hygiene and how to be healthy. The childminder expertly and consistently teaches children of all ages how to keep themselves safe. For instance, she ensures children are very aware about what to do in an emergency.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children develop extremely positive attitudes to learning and gain useful skills for their future learning, including when they move on to school. For example, they listen carefully to instructions and answer questions very confidently. They are inquisitive, show curiosity and are willing to 'have a go'. Children are constantly engaged in exciting activities and are encouraged to lead their own play. They develop excellent friendships and social skills, such as when they play cooperatively together, share and take turns.
