p.1

The provision does not meet requirements

 The childminder does not have a fully developed knowledge of all aspects of the early years foundation stage statutory framework. This means that she is unable to promote and support the best learning outcomes for children.  The childminder does not fully understand the processes of observation and assessment of children’s learning and development. As a result, the childminder does not always recognise the best way to maximise children’s learning potential.  The childminder has thought about and knows what she needs to do to improve her daily practice. She has already sought support from the local authority.  The childminder has effectively addressed the safeguarding actions raised at her previous inspection. She is confident when talking about safeguarding issues and knows what action to take if she has a concern about a child.  The home is safe, secure and suitable for children. The childminder has an appropriate

She describes age- appropriate behaviour management strategies to ensure that children show mutual respect and kindness towards each other.  The childminder demonstrates a suitable understanding of how to work in partnership with parents. She informs parents of their child’s day and shares information about the activities she offers.  The childminder talks confidently about how to meet the physical care needs of the children. She also shows a suitable understanding of how to provide healthy, nutritious food and drink for children in her care.

The provision does not meet requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
