This provision is good
Children develop strong attachments with the childminder, who is caring and responsive to their needs. They settle quickly and demonstrate that they feel happy, safe and secure. Parents are very involved in their children's learning and development. The childminder works with them well. For example, she writes a detailed daily diary to help parents know what their children have done each day. Parents say they value the excellent quality of the care their children receive. Young children are extremely eager to explore and try new things. They make good progress and develop the skills they need for future learning. The childminder reflects carefully on her practice, enabling her to make continual improvements to her provision.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not use all opportunities for children to learn about, reflect upon and value the diversity and backgrounds of others. The childminder has not fully explored further ways to extend her programme of professional development to raise the quality of her teaching to an even higher level.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities in the childminder's home and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector discussed and evaluated an activity with the childminder. The inspector held discussions with the childminder. She looked at documentation and evidence of the suitability of persons living in the household. The inspector took account of the views of parents through reading the written feedback provided. The inspector spoke to children during the inspection.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder is confident in her ability to follow the local safeguarding procedures if she has any concerns about a child. Robust policies and procedures underpin the childminder's good practice. The childminder is passionate and enthusiastic about her role and responsibilities. She shows a commitment to providing a high-quality service for children and their families. She recognises the importance of effective links with other early years settings and schools to share information and support continuity of learning. Self-evaluation is effective. The childminder takes into account the views of parents and children when reflecting on her provision. Parents comment that they are extremely happy with the care given to their children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder has a good understanding of how children learn through play. She observes children carefully and uses this information to plan a range of experiences and activities to meet children's individual needs. Children are encouraged to play with the range of high-quality toys and resources. They are supported to explore and investigate. For example, young children delight as they hunt through coloured rice to find the objects that the childminder has hidden. The childminder encourages younger children to experiment with filling and emptying containers. She uses words, such as 'full' and empty', to support younger children's emerging mathematical vocabulary.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder provides a warm and inviting home environment. Children are relaxed and content. They have established positive relationships and secure attachments with the childminder. The childminder works hard to settle children quickly into her care. She collects robust information from parents before children start, enabling her to meet their emotional needs and provide consistency for sleeping and feeding routines. The childminder promotes children's good health effectively. Children have daily opportunities for fresh air and exercise. They follow good hygiene routines and eat nutritious meals and snacks. The childminder is a good role model. She uses meaningful praise and reassurance to boost children's self-esteem and promote their good behaviour. The childminder regularly takes children to local groups to support them to interact and mix with others. These are some of the many ways in which children's personal, social and

p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress and are working at typical levels of development for their age. Children are happy in their learning and confidently make choices. Younger children are becoming independent. They delight as they begin to feed themselves. Children are acquiring the skills they need to support their future learning and their eventual move to school.
