This provision is outstanding
The childminder is passionate about providing the highest standard of childcare. Since her last inspection, she has been proactive to find different ways to work in partnership with other settings children attend. They now exchange extensive information on children's development and care, and are highly consistent in meeting children's needs. Children's behaviour is exemplary. They have outstanding relationships and the childminder provides excellent support for children of all ages to understand each other's differences. For example, toddlers were happy to complete an inset puzzle with babies and older children encouraged toddlers to join in with their games. The childminder provides outstanding support for children to become highly confident learners. She has very high expectations and knows exactly how to challenge the varying ages and abilities of the children. For instance, babies watched as she

demonstrated how to find the correct hole on a shape sorter and then persevered with doing it for themselves. Children make rapid progress from their starting points. The childminder uses her meticulous observations of children's development extremely well to plan highly challenging activities using their interests to motivate them. For instance, noticing older children's love of music, they learned about different classical composers and know all the instruments in an orchestra.

The inspector observed activities and the quality of teaching indoors and outdoors, and accompanied the childminder and children on a walk. The inspector spoke with the childminder and carried out a joint observation. The inspector checked safeguarding information and the safety of the premises. The inspector took account of written feedback from parents, and discussed self- evaluation and improvement plans with the childminder. The inspector sampled documentation, including policies and procedures, information for parents, children's development records, and planning.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder has a very thorough knowledge of child protection procedures and what to do to protect children's welfare. Through meticulous self-evaluation, constantly seeking parents' feedback and discussing best practice with other childminders, she develops her practice extremely successfully. For example, to ensure outstanding outcomes for children, she has developed her planning to follow children's lead. She is currently evaluating how to enable children to select arts and crafts materials independently to enhance their spontaneous creative ideas more. Parents report that the childminder works exceptionally well with them, which has a significant impact on children's care and development. They have highly successful discussions to ensure they very consistently support children's independence, to prepare them very well for school. The childminder monitors children's development meticulously and ensures children have

any additional support needed, so that they very quickly catch up.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder very skilfully supports children's play, to develop exceptionally well across all areas of learning. She helps them to think of solutions to problems and to learn through trial and error. The childminder engages children in excellent discussions, and provides exceptional encouragement for older ones to gain information from books and technology. For instance, they have learned the names of trees by researching their different leaves. The childminder very skilfully extends their vocabulary, such as naming shapes with toddlers and explaining the meaning of words, such as 'fragile', which older children go on to use. The childminder provides excellent support for children to understand nature and its effect. For instance, older children knew it was windy outside because they could see the trees moving and knew that they would need their coat.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children are highly motivated and eager to explore the excellent resources. The childminder ignites their curiosity and gives them plenty of time to explore and master new skills. She provides excellent support for children to persevere and succeed. For instance, toddlers were eager to see what was in a container and were intrigued by the childminder showing them how a toy worm eats a toy apple. This helped them to master threading, developing their hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity for early writing. Children are highly confident, enthusiastic learners. Babies show extreme pleasure in their achievements. The childminder expertly meets children's individual needs.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children develop exceptional skills, especially in their physical, social and language development, preparing them extremely well for their next stage of learning and school. Older children are very eager to know what words say, recognising letters in their name and linking sounds with letters. They count extremely confidently. Children are highly competent in their self-care skills and have an exceptional knowledge of how to keep themselves safe and healthy. For instance, even toddlers know to drink plenty of water and give out drinking beakers after a walk.
