This provision is good
The childminder undertakes a comprehensive and well-planned programme of training. She enhances her knowledge to ensure that she is able to successfully meet the needs of children who attend her care. The childminder develops exceptional relationships with parents and the other settings that children attend. This close working enables a regular and effective flow of information about children's learning. This supports the childminder in successfully complementing children's learning and excellent progress. The childminder instinctively knows when to stand back and allow children to lead their play. They do so with exceptional skill. Children are highly imaginative and able to think up games together. They assign each other roles, take turns and solve problems. The childminder teaches children to swim. She uses her skills as an instructor to help them to feel safe and enjoy exercising and keeping fit.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
On occasion, the childminder does not consistently encourage children to follow her high expectations for behaviour. The childminder does not always remind children why they need to sit down when they have food in their mouths to fully promote their well-being.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector discussed a planned activity with the childminder. She talked to the childminder and children throughout the inspection. The inspector held discussions with the childminder at suitable times. She looked at relevant documentation, such as evidence of the suitability of the childminder and household members. The inspector read and took account of the written feedback provided by parents.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder displays a comprehensive understanding about child protection issues. She attends frequent, relevant training to ensure that she is aware of how to identify and report any concerns about children's safety and welfare. The childminder involves children in the risk assessment plans she uses. They become aware of how to identify and minimise risks for themselves, such as when playing on the trampoline. The childminder is well qualified and experienced. She demonstrates high levels of enthusiasm and passion for her work. The childminder undertakes regular effective self-evaluation which helps her to make ongoing improvements to her provision.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder plans activities for children that provide them with the opportunity to unwind after a busy day. She helps them to practise the skills they learn at school, such as learning letter sounds and names and counting. Children benefit hugely from opportunities to play and learn outdoors. They climb into the tree house and keep watch from the top of the climbing apparatus. They develop their physical skills exceptionally well. Children enjoy the freedom of raucous, energetic play that excites and stimulates their vivid imaginations. The childminder's highly confident approach to teaching means she is flexible and responsive to children's choices in their learning. She empowers them to make multiple decisions about where and how they play. Children make excellent progress in their learning.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children have opportunities to talk together as a group and to learn from each other. They identify the unique things that make them special. Together, they play and learn in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Children gain a sense of belonging with the childminder. They have their own coat peg and place at the dinner table. Children form close bonds with the childminder and respond to her warm, caring approach. Parents praise how settled children are and how much they enjoy attending her care. The childminder provides a home-cooked meal each evening for children. Together with children, she plans a balanced menu that helps children to learn about healthy eating.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children enjoy attending the childminder's care and play together extremely well. They arrive from school bounding with enthusiasm and eagerness to take part in activities. Children are highly cooperative and show a great deal of respect for the childminder and for each other. They display high levels of confidence and self-esteem and are strong communicators who are polite and eagerly talk about their views and ideas. Children gain the key skills they need to be successful at school and are excited and motivated to learn.
