This provision is good
The childminder's teaching is good. She plans activities that have clear learning objectives and are focused on what children need to learn next. The childminder closely monitors children's progress so that she can check they are developing as they should. Children make good progress in their development. The childminder has recently completed training on child protection issues and has a sound understanding of how to ensure children's safety and well-being. The childminder provides good support to help children as they move on to school. For example, she ensures that children have opportunities to meet their teacher in advance of starting school. The childminder has a sound understanding of how to manage children's behaviour. She consistently reinforces sharing and turn taking to support children's relationships with each other. Children demonstrate strong social skills and good friendships with

It is not yet outstanding because:
On occasion, the childminder does not challenge the children enough to help them to make the fastest rates of progress in their development. The childminder does not share information about children's learning with every other setting that children attend alongside hers, to promote consistent support.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a joint evaluation of an activity with the childminder. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability of adults living on the premises. She looked at relevant documentation, such as evidence of training. The inspector discussed the procedures for evaluation and the priorities for improvement with the childminder. The inspector considered the views of parents and carers spoken to on the day and their written views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Arrangements for safeguarding are effective. There are effective risk assessments in place to promote children's safety. The childminder consistently promotes children's good health and hygiene. For example, she ensures that she minimises the risk of cross-infection through the daily routines. The childminder effectively evaluates her own practice, makes changes to improve it and identifies further areas for development. She gathers useful information from other childcare professionals to inform her own practice. For example, she has implemented some additional activities for older children that reflect what they will be doing when they go to school. This helps children to develop the skills they need for their future learning.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder interacts well with children during their play. She repeats learning to ensure children are consistent in developing skills and knowledge. For example, she supports colour recognition by referring to this throughout an activity and testing children's knowledge in different ways. She encourages children to recall what they have learned from activities to reinforce their learning. She provides a strong focus on helping children to catch up if they are at risk of falling behind. She ensures that she works closely with parents so that they can also support this development at home. She continually shares information to keep parents up to date about their child's progress.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children develop a strong attachment to the childminder. Parents comment on how much their children enjoy going to the childminder's. The childminder ensures her care practices consistently meet children's individual needs, such as their sleep routines. Children develop good levels of independence when accessing resources and activities, moving around the environment and in managing their own personal care. The childminder organises the premises well to provide stimulating, spacious and well-resourced areas for play. The childminder is well organised to ensure that the progress check for children aged between two and three years is shared with parents and the health visitor.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress in their learning and development. They are very sociable with others. They are confident and keen to join in with activities. Children demonstrate an understanding of safety. For example, they explain how they use their feet to stop the sit-and-ride toys before they reach the end of the path. Children make predictions as they explore and investigate, for example, testing items that float and sink. Younger children make marks with water and paint, which contributes towards their early writing skills.
