This provision is good
The childminder's utmost priority is to ensure children are safe. She is extremely attentive to the safety of the children on the premises and on outings and teaches children how to keep themselves safe. The childminder supports children's communication skills very well. She praises children who articulate new words and copy her expression as she speaks. The childminder has established excellent working partnerships with parents and teachers at the local school. Children benefit from good continuity of learning. The childminder has a dedicated room where toys are accessible and visible to children. Children have opportunities to make independent choices in their play and follow their own interests. The enthusiastic childminder accurately evaluates the effectiveness of her childminding service and obtains the views of the parents. This helps her to make continuous improvements to her service.
p.1

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder completes regular child protection training. This helps ensure that she has the most up-to-date knowledge to protect children's welfare. The childminder shares her detailed policies and procedures with parents so that they are aware of her responsibilities to keep children safe. The childminder regularly asks parents and children for their feedback to strengthen her practice even further. She offers useful advice to help parents support and extend their children's learning at home. Parents comment positively about all aspects of her provision.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Activities are challenging, enjoyable and help children progress in their learning and development. The childminder provides exciting new experiences that promote children's strong exploratory impulse. For example, children are eager to explore the new dressing up and role play resources. They show confidence in the character they are portraying and discover how to dress themselves in the accessories. The childminder's good quality interventions help children learn about the world around them. For example, young children discover how things grow as they plant, water and talk about life cycles. The childminder helps children to develop their early counting skills during play. The childminder tracks children's learning and development well. This helps ensure any gaps in learning are swiftly identified so that any additional support is quickly put into place.

Children hugely benefit from the extensive range of outings and activities in the wider community. For example, they explore the natural world through visits to local parks and participate in a wide variety of very carefully selected playgroups that meet their individual needs and interests. Children learn to be highly social and relish the opportunity for fresh air and exercise.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children demonstrate their small-muscle skills. They pick up sequin pieces and natural objects to make a water shaker. Children develop good mathematical skills as they count and explore number, shape, size and measurement. Children are extremely active and independent learners. For instance, they have excellent concentration skills for their age during activities of their own choosing. All children are well prepared for moving on to their next stage of development and eventual move to school.
