This provision is good
The childminder and her assistant are ambitious for the success of the provision. They encourage children to spread their wings, helping to motivate, engage and build their confidence in readiness for their next phase of learning, including school. Partnerships with parents are superb. The childminder brings all parents and children together during innovative experiences, such as stay-and-play sessions. She shares expert ideas that help to extend children's learning at home. The childminder creates a homely and inspiring environment both indoors and outside. The relaxed and comfy ambience helps children to feel comfortable and at home in their surroundings. Children have fun and thoroughly enjoy their time with the childminder. The childminder's effective in the moment planning provides challenging experiences that help to encapsulate children's interests and build on what they already know. All

This provision is good
children make good progress in their learning and development. The childminder provides distinct experiences that help children to connect with their local community, explore their natural world and adopt healthy lifestyles.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
The childminder does not share sufficient information about children's care and learning with other settings they attend, to help to promote the highest levels of continuity. The childminder does not analyse the information from her detailed tracking documents precisely enough to support all children, including those from different groups, to make consistently high rates of progress that lead to outstanding achievement.

Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching, indoors and outside, and assessed the impact this has on children's learning and development. The inspector spoke with the childminder, the assistant, the student and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector took account of the views of parents spoken to on the day of the inspection. The inspector and the childminder jointly evaluated a planned activity outdoors. The inspector looked at evidence of suitability, policies and procedures, health and safety documents, children's learning files and qualification and training records for the childminder and her assistant. She discussed self-evaluation with the childminder.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. Advanced safeguarding training and regular updates help to ensure that the childminder and her assistant have a good knowledge of child protection procedures. The childminder takes effective steps to minimise any potential risks. For example, effective methods are used to keep children safe from the sun and information about common childhood diseases is shared with parents to help to prevent the spread of any infection. Recruitment and induction procedures are robust. The childminder and her assistant work together seamlessly and regularly monitor each other's practice. They share information from customised training and readily re-evaluate their provision. For example, following recent forest school training the childminder and her assistant have implemented weekly woodland walks that inspire children to craft using natural materials and use their good knowledge from books to recreate familiar stories and characters.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The well-qualified childminder applies a sharp emphasis on the prime areas of learning, helping to secure the foundations for future learning. She observes children closely and tunes in to what they know and enjoy. Babies are well supported during activities. The childminder is on hand to offer her support, encouragement and reassurance to help to instil them with the confidence to explore new materials, such as soil, using their senses. Young children relish in experiences, such as playing with dough. The childminder uses these opportunities to encourage children to use tools for a purpose and to observe the marks that various resources, such as bark and toy animals, make. Children are intrigued by the footprints they create and begin to use mathematical language related to size.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
The childminder and her assistant form excellent relationships with each and every child from the outset. Valuable methods, such as organising 'big' walks alongside parents, contribute towards a smooth settling-in process. The childminder teaches children about the value of adopting caring, respectful and helpful attitudes. Her continual positive praise and implementation of special events, such as graduation day, help children to gain a high sense of self-worth. Children enjoy plenty of time outdoors in the fresh air. Engaging ideas, such as growing fruits and vegetables and trips to the local market to buy fresh produce, help children to learn about where their healthy food comes from.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
All children make good progress. They demonstrate a sheer desire to learn and achieve. Babies are confident to seek comfort and support as and when required. They are keen to pull themselves up to standing position using carefully secured furniture and feed themselves independently. Young children show care and consideration for others. They readily celebrate each other's achievements and develop close and lasting friendships. All children show interest in books and illustrations and readily join in with familiar songs and rhymes. They gain the skills they require for their next stages of learning.
