They value children and engage them well in conversations, taking an interest in what they have been doing at home, helping ensure consistency in their care and learning. The management team and staff have high aspirations for all children and ensure that gaps in achievement between different groups of children are closing. learners, which helps them to be ready for school when the time comes.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Occasionally, staff do not maximise every opportunity to involve and engage the less confident and quieter children in planned activities or focus on the most able children to further extend their learning and development. Monitoring of staff's practice is not rigorous enough to focus consistently on ways to extend teaching skills even further.
p.1
What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector talked with parents, the provider, the management team, staff and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector observed the staff's interactions with children during activities indoors and outdoors and looked at a range of resources and equipment. The inspector undertook a joint observation with the deputy manager. The inspector sampled a range of documentation, including children's details, learning records, insurance and other relevant documentation. The inspector had discussions with the provider about policies and procedures and methods of assessing and planning for children's progress.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The management team ensures that staff access regular safeguarding training. Staff understand their statutory responsibilities and have a broad understanding of the indicators of abuse. They are confident to report any concerns to safeguard and protect children from possible harm. Recruitment and vetting procedures are robust and ensure that staff are suitable to work with children. Safeguarding is effective. Staff receive regular opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills and pursue further qualifications. Self- evaluation is effective. The provider works well in partnership with parents and seeks the views of children, staff, parents and other professionals to improve their service continuously. They have addressed the action and recommendations raised at the last inspection well. For example, they risk assess the environment thoroughly, supervise activities well and take effective action to minimise risks.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff make accurate assessments of children's levels of development and plan a range of activities that helps them to achieve the next steps in their learning. Staff encourage children's language development well. For example, staff model language, teach children new words and give children time to answer their questions. Staff learn key words in children's home language to support children who speak English as an additional language. Babies learn through their senses and their natural curiosity to investigate. For example, they explore natural objects, which they squeeze, rub, bang and shake at leisure. Younger children explore with paint and enjoy mixing colours together. Older children excitedly use large magnets to find objects to pick up. Staff support them to understand why some objects are magnetic and some are not.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Staff know children well, which helps them develop secure relationships. Staff support children who are new to the setting well as they grow in confidence. Interactions between staff and children are sensitive, caring and respectful. Children settle quickly into routines of the day. They demonstrate a real sense of belonging in the setting. Staff manage children's behaviour effectively. For example, they are calm and consistent with children and share ground rules that children understand well. The nursery cook provides nutritious homemade meals and drinks. This helps children to develop a good understanding about a healthy lifestyle. Children help themselves to fresh fruit, pour their own drinks and tidy up after they have finished their meals. Children have regular opportunities to be physically active in the well-planned and natural outdoor spaces.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children make good progress during their time at nursery. This includes children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities, children who speak English as an additional language and those who receive additional funding. Children are developing good early writing skills and older children confidently write their names.
