This provision is good
The childminder has taken action to address weaknesses at her last inspection to ensure all requirements are met. She continually reviews her practice and provides a safe and welcoming environment for children. Children's communication is promoted well. For example, the childminder supports their developing language skills effectively through stories, songs and rhymes. The childminder knows children well. She tracks their individual development and uses the information effectively to plan for what children need to learn next. Children make good progress in their learning. Children have regular access to outdoor play activities to develop their physical skills. The childminder establishes good relationships with parents. The two-way exchange of information promotes a consistent approach to children's care and well-being. Children behave well. The childminder helps children to learn to share and take turns

with the toys and resources, and, as a result, children play together cooperatively.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
At times, the childminder does not take full advantage of opportunities to further support children's understanding of number. Children do not have regular chances to learn how to operate programmable toys and learn how to make things work.

What the setting needs to do to improve further
To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should:

Inspection activities
The inspector observed activities and interaction between the childminder and the children, and reviewed the play equipment and resources. The inspector spoke with the childminder at appropriate times throughout the inspection, including discussing the impact of teaching after viewing activities. The inspector viewed the areas of the premises used for childminding and talked to the children at appropriate times. The inspector looked at documentation, including a sample of children's records. The inspector discussed how the childminder evaluates her provision.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder understands her role and responsibilities in keeping children safe and the procedures to follow if she has a concern. She constantly checks the play space and activities to identify potential risks to children. For example, the childminder puts soft mats under outdoor play equipment to help keep children safe. The childminder is keen to develop her skills further, for instance, through training. She continues to evaluate her provision and reviews activities to improve the children's learning experiences. For instance, she reorganised the books so children can access them independently and created a cosy area where they can enjoy the books. All required documentation is maintained, including an accurate record of children's attendance. Parents get involved in their children's learning and share their achievements at home.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The quality of teaching is good. The childminder offers stimulating learning experiences that keep children interested and occupied. Children eagerly choose their play activities and the childminder engages them in purposeful play. For example, children enjoy sorting and matching the various coloured bears to the corresponding coloured plate. The childminder encourages them to use tweezers to pick up the items, helping develop their fine motor skills. Children learn new physical skills. They show control as they balance and climb on the low climbing frame, reassured that the childminder is close by to offer support if needed. Children join in with familiar songs and actions to rhymes as they play.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children have secure and trusting relationships with the childminder, which promotes their emotional well-being effectively. The childminder links with the parents to obtain information about each child's abilities to enable her to support them from the start. She helps children to develop strong friendships and children show kindness to each other. Children learn how to keep themselves and others safe. For example, the childminder reminds them of the importance to sit properly on their chair so they do not fall.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are happy, active and motivated to learn. They are prepared well for their future learning and move on to school. For example, children become increasingly independent in doing things for themselves, such as putting on their shoes and coats. Children have access to a wide range of mark-making tools, indoors and outdoors, to develop their early literacy skills, for example.
