This provision is outstanding
The childminder has an exceptionally thorough understanding of child development. Her precise observations, assessments and planning for children's next steps in learning help children to make exceptional progress. The childminder strives for excellence. Along with her co-childminder, she evaluates her provision and actively seeks opportunities to drive improvements. For example, recent improvements have promoted children's health and well-being as they have worked hard to reduce the amount of refined sugar the children are consuming. Partnerships with parents are outstanding. The childminder works closely with parents to develop a consistent, shared approach that significantly enhances children's well- being. She gathers a wealth of information from parents about their children on entry to the setting. Parents speak extremely highly of the childminder and her co- childminder, who they feel offer outstanding care.

continue to build on the already exceptional partnership working with other settings that children attend, to maintain children's rapid progress.
p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities indoors and outdoors. The inspector jointly evaluated an activity with the childminder and discussed children's learning. The inspector spoke to some parents and took account of the views of other parents through written feedback provided. The inspector spoke to the childminder, her co-childminder and children at appropriate times during the inspection. The inspector checked documents relating to suitability and sampled a range of documentation, including safeguarding procedures and children's progress records.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder has a very thorough knowledge and understanding of how to recognise and report any concerns about a child's well-being. The childminder is proactive in her approach to professional development and actively engages in training and professional reading to further develop her knowledge. For example, recent training in experimental cooking has enhanced her practice so that children use all of their senses during cooking activities. The childminder has excellent relationships with other settings and readily shares information with them. She now plans to strengthen these even further.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding
The childminder is highly qualified and experienced, and knows each child incredibly well. Children's mathematical skills are exceptionally well supported. For example, the childminder skilfully encourages children to predict how many cups of water they will need to fill a measuring jug to an exact amount. The childminder constantly talks to children to challenge, inspire and stimulate them. She gives extremely clear explanations to children and introduces them to new words. For example, when children show high levels of interest in woodland animals, the childminder teaches them that baby owls are called owlets. The childminder accurately monitors the progress children are making and supports them to continue to make exceptional progress through highly stimulating experiences and activities.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding
Children thrive in the stimulating and well-resourced environment. They are given plenty of opportunities to make independent choices and they work superbly with their friends. For example, children vote for which area of the forest they would like to visit on their daily outing. Children have developed an excellent understanding of how to keep themselves safe when out in the community. For instance, they know how to safely cross the road and confidently talk through the rules when they are on outings.
p.3
Outcomes for children are outstanding
Children of all ages show extremely high levels of confidence and independence. They relish taking responsibility for tasks and are cooperative and helpful. Children demonstrate excellent early literacy skills as they confidently sound out and independently write letters. Children are excelling in their communication and language as they talk extensively about their experiences and ask questions to further ignite their learning. Children are exceptionally well prepared with the key skills needed for the next stage in their learning and for school.
