This provision is outstanding

 The teaching and learning in this setting are exceptional. Staff know the children very well and children make excellent progress from their starting points. The planning for each child is meticulous and ensures they are able to take part in highly challenging activities.  The manager, who is also the provider, is inspirational and works exceptionally hard with the whole team to ensure the standards of teaching are high. The provider and the staff consistently review practice and show a dedication to precise self-evaluation.  Staff have extensive opportunities to attend training. On completion of training, staff cascade their knowledge to the whole of the staff group, showing what they have learned and how their new skills can be used in the setting.  Staff support children exceptionally well and provide high levels of excellent, considered support, helping children to form secure emotional attachments. They offer an

abundance of nurturing, affectionate care and children settle very quickly.  Children have superb opportunities to develop their language skills. For example, they use visual aids to choose their favourite song. They tell their friends what they have chosen and confidently lead the singing, using sign language to ensure all children are included.

Inspection activities

 The inspector discussed how the provider evaluates her service and her priorities for improvement.  The inspector looked at the rooms and resources children use.  The inspector looked at documentation and discussed the systems the provider uses to observe and record children's progress.  The inspector observed children's play and their conversations with the provider and staff in the indoor and outdoor environments.

p.2

Effectiveness of the leadership and management is outstanding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The provider and her staff have a secure knowledge of child protection matters. They know how to recognise signs and symptoms which may indicate a welfare concern and the procedures to follow to report these to the appropriate agencies. The provider implements a thorough recruitment policy to ensure staff are suitable to work with children and there are effective systems to ensure staff remain suitable. Staff have an excellent partnership with parents, which thoroughly supports the children and shared learning. However, the provider recognises there are more ways to develop this partnership even further. Staff use excellent systems for tracking children's progress. The high-quality, meaningful observations help staff to ensure they identify any gaps in learning and execute precise planning to close the gaps.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

Children's learning is impressive and they make excellent progress from their starting points. The atmosphere within the setting is extremely welcoming and homely. The environment is rich in resources and equipment. Staff are highly motivated and place a high priority on the individual needs of the child and how they can best support their progress. Children are elated as they listen to stories, and excellent teaching methods help children to understand about the book. For example, they know who writes and who illustrates the book. Staff encourage children to use props that enhance and help them to participate in the story. Staff plan exciting activities and children are widely encouraged to make their own choices and lead their own play.

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

All staff form highly secure attachments with the children. They support all children to join in with activities. For example, they hold babies, allowing them to jump as older children enthusiastically sing a familiar song about monkeys. Staff ensure the home routines of children are known, valued and followed. Children demonstrate a strong sense of belonging. They are very safe in this caring environment. Children navigate around the setting with ease and self-assurance, selecting resources to support their ideas for play.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Children make significant progress from their starting points. They develop excellent self- care skills. For example, they know how to dress themselves and what they need to wear to keep warm. Furthermore, they know why they need to follow good personal hygiene routines. Children are highly equipped for their next stage in their learning.
