This home was judged requires improvement at the last full inspection. At this interim inspection, the home was ‘not judged’. The home has been closed for nine months. The registered provider has indicated that the home will not be operational for another one to two months. Should the home decide to accept children, it is required to inform Ofsted of its intention before it does so. Since the previous inspection, a new manager has been appointed to manage this home. She has not yet submitted a complete application to register with Ofsted. The previous manager who left in December 2017 has not completed a voluntary cancellation form as required. The registered provider plans to vary the home’s conditions of registration from accommodating four children who may have emotional and/or behavioural difficulties to three children. Interim inspection report children’s home: SC363391 2 The responsible individual and appointed manager have devised an appropriate

development plan for the reopening of the home. They have communicated their plans to the local authority, Ofsted and the police. In addition, they are planning a careful and considered admissions policy to help the children who move in to have a successful time here. Leaders and managers plan to reduce the numbers of children who can be accommodated in this home. In addition, they are proposing a staged increase of children’s numbers in line with the development of the new manager and the establishment of a core staff team. Currently, four staff have been allocated to work at the home and another three are being recruited. The home is decorated and furnished to a very good standard. Further personalisation will take place by children once they move in. Health and safety checks of the premises are kept up to date and monthly monitoring by an independent visitor has continued. The two requirements from the previous inspection have been addressed. The previous

children’s case files and records have been stored securely away from the home and a development plan has been used to evaluate the manager’s priorities. There are no new requirements or recommendations made at the inspection.
