Children and young people credit their progress and stability to the trusting and positive relationships that they experience with the managers and staff. They become more confident as positive behaviours are consistently rewarded. As children and young people make positive relationships, they are more able to express their worries and thus incidents of challenging behaviours are gradually reducing. Staff are proactive and seek to work in partnership with agencies to support children’s and young people’s complex emotional, educational and behavioural needs. For example, staff maintain regular discussion with young people’s education placements, visit schools and have regular visits from the looked after children’s nurses from the area. The manager shows vigour and determination in addressing the previous statutory requirements. Staff supervision and focused team meetings set out, reinforce and review the clear expectations for staff practice. Regular review ensures that shortfalls and
