For example, the childminder provides opportunities for children to take part in innovative role-play scenarios that boost their knowledge of assessing the quickest and safest exit routes in the event of a fire. Admirable tracking is used well to secure timely interventions and close any gaps in children's learning. The childminder recognises the need to strengthen the partnerships formed with newly acquainted settings that children attend, to promote even higher levels of continuity and collaborative working. The childminder works in true partnership with his co-childminder to scrupulously evaluate and enrich the quality of provision.

p.3

Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding

Observations and assessments of children's learning are accurate and precise. The knowledgeable childminder provides first-class learning experiences for children to engage in that spark their innate curiosity and imagination. Excellent interventions are applied to move play on. For example, the childminder asks children to help with clothing a doll to boost their self-care skills. He makes links to everyday routines to advance children's knowledge of superior hygiene practices.

p.3

The childminder is alert to spontaneous events that occur in the natural world, such as snowfall. He takes account of children's own preferences and ideas and engages them in inventive experiences, such as taking a snowman sledging, to help them adopt active and healthy lifestyles. The childminder's calm, sensitive and positive nature is transpired through his high-quality interactions and contributes towards the impeccable behaviour that children demonstrate. The childminder is highly responsive to children's physical needs. He uses effective techniques, such as reading a soothing bedtime story in a calming environment, to help children relax and settle before sleep.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

All children make outstanding progress and gain exceptional skills for school. Children are enthusiastic and motivated learners. They have a strong sense of their own immediate family and form special friendships with their peers. Children show an immense interest in books and illustrations. They turn pages from left to right and fill in missing words from familiar stories. Children learn new words very rapidly and speak in short sentences. They are kind, respectful and considerate of others. Children are clearly very happy and comfortable in their engaging and captivating surroundings.
