Children engage well and are motivated and eager to learn as they choose what they would like to play with. They make good progress in their development. Children are happy and settled. Relationships between the childminder and the children are very good. This helps children to feel emotionally secure from the start of care. Children show close attachments with the nurturing childminder and her assistant. Their sensitivity, calmness and ability to support and guide children help children to develop self-confidence and a strong sense of belonging. Children's physical development is supported and they join the childminder in exercising. They extend their physical skills in the garden and ride on a wide range of wheeled toys.

She ensures she carries out risk assessments which help her to identify and minimise any hazards to children. The childminder reviews her provision to identify any areas for improvement. She seeks the views of parents and children, and parents complete a survey each year. Children complete a questionnaire and the childminder asks them to 'name four activities you like doing best' and 'name a few of your favourite toys'.
