Young people make significant progress. For example, since the previous inspection, one young person has successfully moved into independence, has enjoyed making friends and is making good progress at college. Interim inspection report children’s home: SC452009 2 Staff have worked extremely hard to help one young person move from another children’s home within the company, and in particular, re-engage with learning. p.1
and young people since the most recent full inspection
Since the previous inspection, the one young person who has subsequently left and the one young person who is currently living in the home have received high-quality care. Highly personalised plans provide staff with clear guidance, resulting in the young people continuing to make significant strides forward. Staff have continued to improve the homeliness of the living environment.
p.2
and young people since the most recent full inspection
The registered manager and the staff team have paid particular attention to helping the young person feel safe and enjoy activities. Regular adventures take place. For example, making camp fires and mountain biking helps the young person develop a sense of confidence and achievement. It is during these adventures that positive relationships continue to develop between the young person and the staff.
p.2
and young people since the most recent full inspection
Gentle, considered approaches to the young person’s worries and anxieties have resulted in the young person being more able to understand their feelings and emotions. As a result, physical interventions and the use of sanctions have reduced significantly. The few physical interventions that have taken place were necessary to prevent any risk of the young person harming themselves. Effective reporting mechanisms are in place that continue to keep young people safe.
