This provision is good
The manager has enhanced self-evaluation since the last inspection and now uses it effectively. She has made sustained and targeted improvements to the learning experiences of children. The quality of the provision has improved. Staff are skilled at supporting children who have special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities. They work effectively with other professionals, when needed. Staff understand how to meet the unique needs of each child. They improve outcomes for all children. Staff now work closely with parents to gather detailed information about what their children know and can do when they join the nursery. Staff use this information to quickly and accurately assess children's starting points and carefully plan what children need to learn next. All children make good progress from their different starting points. Children benefit from interesting opportunities to learn about the local area and people

whose experience may be different to their own. They are supported well in thinking about, and respecting, each other's similarities and differences.
p.1
It is not yet outstanding because:
Staff do not consistently recognise opportunities to extend children's language and communication skills as fully as possible. While children behave well overall, some staff are not consistently effective in reinforcing children's understanding of behavioural expectations.

support staff to build on opportunities to use children's immediate interests to continually extend their communication and language skills ensure staff provide children with more- consistent support to help them understand what is expected of them, and why.
p.2
Inspection activities
The inspector observed different activities, including outdoor learning, and assessed the impact on children's learning. The inspector undertook a joint observation with the manager. The inspector held a meeting with the manager. The inspector looked at a selection of policies, children's records, and documents relating to the suitability of staff. She discussed self-evaluation with the manager. The inspector talked to staff, children and parents to gather their views.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The manager ensures that staff are confident in their understanding of the signs and symptoms which may give cause for concern about a child's welfare. Staff have completed training updates about how to identify any children who may be at risk of being exposed to extreme ideas or behaviours. The manager has enhanced risk assessments carried out by staff, for example, on the resources offered to children. These help staff to keep children safe. Staff's professional development is supported well, for instance, through regular supervision and training. Staff effectively use the skills they gain to enhance the quality of their practice. For example, staff have made improvements to how they monitor and assess children's learning and progress.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
Staff provide children with interesting opportunities to learn about the natural world. For example, children visit local parks, grow plants and learn how caterpillars turn into butterflies. Children understand their own needs, for example, they excitedly ask to exercise. They ride tricycles, climb and slide. Staff consistently support children's physical development well. Staff support children's mathematical learning as they work with children to explore shape, size and quantity. They are skilled at identifying children's immediate interests and use them to effectively build on their learning. For example, the youngest children are fascinated to see nearby construction works. Staff provide ample time for them to stop and watch.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Parents praise the staff, who they say are 'warm and caring'. Staff are good role models for children and effectively support their emotional well-being. Staff skilfully challenge ideas about what boys and girls should play with and support children in their imaginative play. For example, boys delight in 'cooking' in the home corner and girls use construction resources to design and build. Children's independence is supported well. They learn about leading a healthy lifestyle, for instance, as they enjoy interesting and nutritious meals. Staff have made improvements to children's care routines and children can now independently access quiet areas to rest, sit together or look at books.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are sociable, self-motivated and confident. They are engaged in learning and spontaneously initiate learning during activities, for their own interest. For example, children excitedly count to themselves as they watch a sand timer during play. They happily care for their resources and environment, for instance, as they tidy up after activities. Children eagerly develop skills which support them in the next stage of their learning, including in readiness for school.
