This provision is good
Children are happy, confident and settled in the childminder's care. They develop a sense of belonging and form secure, warm and nurturing relationships with the childminder. This supports their emotional well-being successfully. The childminder arranges the environment so that children can make choices in their play. She provides a stimulating range of resources to help children explore, create and use their imagination. Partnerships with the local school are good. There are effective methods to share information, which helps to support continuity of care and learning for all children. The childminder works effectively with parents to ensure their child's needs are continually known and met. Good processes are in place for communication and the childminder regularly keeps them informed of their children's achievements. The childminder attends relevant training and meets regularly with other childminders.

Inspection activities
The inspector looked at the areas in the home used for childminding. The inspector checked evidence of the suitability of all household members over 16 years old. The inspector spoke to the childminder and children at appropriate times throughout the inspection. The inspector took account of the views of parents. The inspector checked evidence of the childminder's suitability, qualifications and training certificates, and looked at a sample of her policies and procedures.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder takes all necessary steps to ensure children are kept safe at all times. She has a clear understanding of her role and responsibilities with regard to child protection issues. Consistent policies and procedures are used well to underpin practice. Risk assessments are completed prior to the children's arrival and daily checks are completed indoors and outside, helping to keep children safe. The childminder reviews her practice and takes parents' and children's views into consideration when planning improvements to her service. Parents' written comments show that they are extremely happy with the quality of service offered to them and their children.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder provides a welcoming and friendly environment. There is a strong emphasis on play and having fun. The childminder uses her experience and skills well to promote and encourage children's engagement in a wide range of play experiences. She fully understands that children may want some time to relax after a busy day at school, and takes this into account when planning sessions. Children know what is accessible to them and help themselves to additional resources from low-level shelving, supporting choice and independence. Children of different ages enjoy working together. For example, they support each other to build a car track and take turns in placing lines of cars on it. The childminder follows children's lead as they imitate real-life experiences, such as caring for dolls. The childminder encourages children's imagination as they play princesses and knights.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children's behaviour is good. The childminder is a positive role model who shares her clear expectations for good behaviour. She speaks calmly and kindly to children and helps them to learn about good manners, sharing and taking turns. Children show real care and concern for others during their play. They learn to respect each other, and older and younger children play well together. The childminder actively encourages children's independence and they have opportunities to adopt healthy practices, such as washing their hands, before enjoying healthy meals and snacks. The childminder promotes children's physical well-being effectively. There is free access from the indoor area to the outdoors. This is supported by good opportunities for children to benefit from physical activities on a range of equipment, such as a trampoline and slide. The childminder continues children's interest in learning about different cultures and traditions within the
