Children have great fun and thoroughly enjoy their time at nursery. They have a wealth of highly stimulating learning opportunities available to them and even the youngest are able to independently find their favourite activity or plaything. Younger children especially delight in creative activities. They use paint with great enthusiasm and happily experiment to create meaningful pictures. Staff show a genuine appreciation for children's artwork and boost children's self-esteem effectively as they talk about their paintings. Older children are motivated, inquisitive and active learners. They appreciate being outdoors and become deeply involved with their activities. For example, children pretend to make chocolate cakes in the mud kitchen. Staff show excellent teaching skills as they know when to involve themselves in children's play and when to step back. Staff engage children in conversations about cooking and children readily talk about things they have made at

p.3

Personal development, behaviour and welfare are outstanding

They give children the time and the reassurance they need to settle into new surroundings. Plenty of cuddles are on offer for those who need to snuggle up before they have a much needed rest. Older children learn about healthy foods during activities and have plenty of fresh air and exercise during the day. They learn to safely use tools, such as scissors and undertake their own risk assessments as they play.

p.3

Outcomes for children are outstanding

Older children confidently identify letters and can write their own names. Additional funding is used very effectively to enhance children's experiences and development. Children make rapid progress from their starting points and are exceptionally well prepared for their next stage in learning.
