This provision is good
The childminder has worked hard since the last inspection to raise the quality of her provision and has made good use of the support and guidance from her local authority. The childminder supervises children closely and has good regard of safety procedures to help reduce accidents and incidents. The childminder uses her observations effectively to identify children's next stages of learning and plan challenging activities. The childminder has developed her use of self-evaluation. She has reflected on what she provides and seeks the views of parents and children to continually improve. For example, she has plans to display more photographs of children, to help them reflect on their learning and develop a sense of pride in their achievements. Children enjoy their time in this highly stimulating learning environment. They are happy, settled and content. They make good progress in their learning from their

It is not yet outstanding because:
At times, the childminder does not make good use of opportunities that arise to extend children's learning as they enjoy playing outdoors. The childminder offers limited support for children to explore technology, to improve their understanding of the world.

Inspection activities
The inspector and the childminder discussed a planned activity together. The inspector observed the quality of teaching during activities and assessed the impact this has on children's learning. The inspector completed a tour of the areas of the premises used for childminding and checked the suitability of toys and equipment. The inspector looked at relevant documentation, such as evidence of the suitability of adults living at the premises and children's records. The inspector took account of the views of parents from written feedback.
p.2
Effectiveness of the leadership and management is good
Safeguarding is effective. The childminder makes sure she has an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding procedures. She fully understands her responsibility to report any child protection concerns to the relevant agency. The childminder gives high priority to maintaining a safe home where children are able to move around independently. She continually reviews her teaching and use of resources to help ensure she meets children's changing needs and interests. For example, she has recently introduced a board of latches and bolts that children enjoy investigating to find out how things work. The childminder continues to develop her skills, for example, by attending training and actively seeking new ideas that help enhance children's experiences.
p.3
Quality of teaching, learning and assessment is good
The childminder gathers all relevant information from parents about children when they first start. She plans effectively for children's development from the beginning and makes regular assessments of their learning to check that they are making good progress. The childminder engages children in meaningful conversations. For example, as they play with toy animals, she questions them about what noises the animals make, what they eat and where they live. This helps children to develop good thinking, communication and language skills and extends their knowledge about the natural world. The childminder encourages children to count and to name colours and shapes during play, helping to extend their mathematical skills.
p.3
Personal development, behaviour and welfare are good
Children enjoy the responsibility of carrying out simple tasks. For example, they eagerly help to tidy away the resources after play. The childminder has a calm approach and uses consistent reminders to help children learn about rules and boundaries. Children's behaviour is good. The childminder encourages children to develop good hygiene routines and begin to manage their personal care. For example, young children learn to wash and dry their hands before eating. The childminder teaches children about how to lead healthy lifestyles. For example, she offers them healthy and nutritious food. The childminder teaches children about various cultures and religions to help them to learn about and respect others. For example, they discuss and celebrate special events from around the world.
p.3
Outcomes for children are good
Children are motivated, eager to learn and keen to join in with a wide variety of activities. They are developing key skills needed for the next stage in their learning and their move to school. For example, children enjoy practising their early writing skills with the childminder.
