She engages in relevant professional development activities to strengthen her teaching skills further. The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. The childminder successfully implements a good range of policies and procedures to help ensure that she provides a safe environment for children. She regularly updates her knowledge of child protection matters and knows what action to take if she has any concerns about children's welfare. The childminder monitors her assistants closely and supervises them effectively. They work well together and meet on a monthly basis to share ideas and identify strengths and weaknesses in practice. The childminder is committed to developing her service. She acts upon feedback from her assistants, parents and children to plan positive improvements to her provision. For instance, she plans to develop her garden to provide even better opportunities for children who prefer to learn outdoors.
p.3

The childminder uses accurate observation and assessment to monitor children's progress and plan precisely for their future learning. She is supportive and interacts well to build on children's existing skills and knowledge. Children's physical skills are developing well. The childminder hosts many charity and community events to help children learn about different people and the wider world in which they live. For example, she helps children to prepare gifts for her elderly neighbours and takes them to visit at Christmas. The childminder provides nutritious meals and implements good hygiene routines. Children are physically active and benefit from daily fresh air and exercise.
p.3
